• Enforced the full range of law enforcement duties within Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland to

include power of apprehension and detention which entailed carrying a firearm, preserving evidence

and testifying in court as it pertained to enforcing regulations on a military installation.

• Conducted preliminary and final short-term investigations of a broad range of alleged and actual

crimes occurring within Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. Investigated accidents, summoned rescue

squads and firefighters and redirected onlookers from scene.

• Patrolled the installation on foot or in vehicles; responded to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or

suspicious circumstances; and investigated the incidents.

• Performed searches, including hand-wand and pat-down searches.

• Dispatched police units to scenes of crimes, accidents and natural disasters. Monitored the

location of numerous police units.

• Transmitted messages and instructions to officers on patrol and dispatched officers to investigate

complaints and assisted in emergencies.

• Interpreted directives and instructions and answers general inquiries.

• Collected collateral, issued receipts, recorded charges and, as necessary, placed offenders under

arrest.

• Searched prisoners and removed weapons and articles which could cause injury or be used in

escape attempts.

• Interacted with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries.

• Controlled entry and exit to a federal instillation, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
