Drilling and Blasting Systems - Conyers, GA - August 1992 to September 2008
supervisor, Safety/Task Trainer, Drill Tech.
Duties: Drilling and Blasting Systems (DBS) is a contractor that drills Production Blast holes for quarries and
mines in a four state area. I was with this company for 16 years and performed a number of duties under
different titles.
Consumables Supervisor: Purchasing and distribution of consumables, tools, safety items, Over see the
Rebuilding of DTH hammers, chucks, backheads, and Fabrication of numerous products, wrenches, Bit
grinding stands, fishing tools and miscellaneous tools.
Field supervisor: I supervised Drillers in North Carolina maintaining safety requirements, production goals,
moving drills O.T.R. and Public relations with customers.
Safety supervisor: included, compliance with all state and federal regulations, I wrote the Safety training
program which was eventually accepted and approved by MSHA.
Safety/trainer: Performing MSHA safety training, Annual Refresher, New Miner and task training.
Drill Tech.: Operation of a truck/track drill rig. We drilled production holes and exploration holes. including
standard Maintenance of drill and company pickup, quality control and Customer relations.

Duties: Operating a track drill and blasting in advance of municipal storm drain construction project.

Duties: Included Evaluation of Geological, Mining, and Metallurgical work Performed and in progress on
Several mining projects. Mine planning and design utilizing Med system software. Operations Engineer for
White Pine mine.
Mine Engineer
Placer Dome U. S. Box - McDermitt, NV - February 1988 to December 1990
Supervisor: Randy Powell
Duties: Included Ore control, mine scheduling, meeting production goals, calculations of annual ore reserves
using in house software, budgeting, long and short range mine planning, surveying, and road construction
projects. I also had the opportunity to become involved with the daily operations of the mill and furnace. This
included experience with bench scale flotation, furnace and leaching test work for the purposes of feasibility
studies.
Quality Control Engineer
Montana Talc Company - Three Forks, MT - April 1986 to October 1987
Supervisor: Bob Walish
Duties: Responsibility for product Quality. This included trouble shooting a new mill during start-up, setting
the grinding conditions for dry grinding mills and trouble shooting the "ladder logic" software for a totally
automated mill. I supervised the lab technicians and set up the sampling and testing programs. The lab
also provided technical support for customers, Exploration Dept., Marketing, and R&D. While I was with the
company Montana Talc became recognized as a quality product.

jobs, Frac jobs and acid jobs on Oil wells.

Duties: Reopening a shaft for an underground mine. Mine surveying, mapping, sampling and evaluation.
Production was suspended due to low silver prices.

Blue Range Mining Co - Butte, MT - April 1980 to June 1981
Supervisor: Larry Hoffman
Duties: Supervision and Security of 100 S.T.P.D. Gold mill utilizing mineral jigs and shaking tables. The
Underground mine was located 70 North of the Arctic Circle in Alaska. Design and renovation of flow circuit
to remove shaking tables and replace them with flotation cells and leach of the concentrate. Carbon in Pulp
final recovery.
Hecla Mining Co. Wallace, Idaho
Title: Miners helper
Duties: I worked as a Nipper, Motorman, Timberer at the Lucky Friday mine. It is a underground Silver and
Lead mine in Mullen Idaho. The Lucky Friday used a horizontal cut and fill mining method. This was my last
summer job while I was in college. I also worked thru the holidays between semesters.
I also completed several tours of Underground mines and the Underground Mine Surveying course as required
by the Mining Department of Montana Tech. at Butte Montana.
