AUO Sunpower is a joint venture between AUO and Sunpower Corp. established
on July 2010 with an estimated workforce of 4000 employees by the year
2015. The Site Plant Area is 510,059 square meters and with a 1.4 Gigawatts
planned capacity. The wafer fab designs and manufactures high-efficiency
crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, roof tiles and solar panels based
on a silicon all-back-contact solar cell invented at Stanford University.
SunPower 125mm-wide single-crystal silicon solar cells are based on a rear-
contact design that eliminates front-side metallization, maximizes the
working cell area, eliminates redundant wires and makes automated
production easier. Forming the junction at the rear of the cell, combined
with a clever surface treatment, allows it to trap and convert much more of
the available photons into mobile electrons-yielding a jump in efficiency.
The cell employs several other tricks to boost efficiency, including an
oxide passivation layer on the backside to deny regions for unwanted hole-
electron recombination.

Overall Responsibilities:
. Main focal person for all issues related to machines such as Plasma
Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) machines - Jusung (ARC -
Anti-Reflective Coating Process) / Roth and Rau (bARC - Back Anti-
Reflective Coating Process).
. Serve as System owner and main focal person of automation machines
(Wafer Loader and Unloader modules) for PECVD machines.
. Oversee mechanical technicians or other engineers and examine and
confirm designs, computations and cost estimations.
. Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and
structures if needed.
. Responsible for meeting and sustaining OEE (Overall Equipment
Efficiency), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), and MTTR (Mean Time
To Repair) set targets to support the maximum output of production
lines by improving preventive maintenance duration time and
quality; implementing projects to reduce machine breakdown
occurrence.
. Responsible in meeting and improving set yield targets for process
step PECVD by setting standards on machine parameters and settings,
developing procedures for maintenance and troubleshooting,
implementing yield improvement projects.
. Perform engineering evaluations & characterizations and analyzes
machine data to improve and reduce cost in terms of yield, spares
and consumables.
. Study, prepare and present EPR (Equipment Procurement Review)
Levels 3 and 4 to the management.
. Prepare detailed machine failure analysis report.
. Prepare machine preventive maintenance specifications and
checklists.
