Anatomy, Biomedical Signals-Instruments, Applied Statistics, Material Science, Stress Analysis, Static Systems
Internships:
ConforMIS, CAD Engineer Co-op May 2012 to August 2012, May 2013 to August 2013
Generated 3D and other post-processing images from diagnostic CT, MRI and other data sources.
Used SolidWorks to develop and review custom, patient specific, knee replacement parts.
Initiated, worked on, and completed a project to cut down on design time and streamline the full design process.
Executed paperwork and ConforMIS Information System functions as necessary for each patient implant.
Participated in and lead research programs and quality improvement projects.
Performed tasks under the company FDA and ISO-conforming quality system.
Interviewed and helped to select CAD Engineer Co-op applicants for upcoming semesters.
Lead a project to organize the ConforMIS Co-op program, including formalizing expectations and training.
Projects:
Worcester, MA: WPI Major Qualifying Project (MQP) August 2013 to April 2014
The goal of this project is to design and test an innovative knee brace that prevents ACL injury during alpine skiing.
It is being completed in a group of three students, focusing on Axiomatic Design with the intent of filing a patent.
Worcester, MA: WPI Biomechanics Lab Projects August 2013 to December 2013
I designed and completed two projects during this lab. The first project compared the strength of fifth metatarsal
fractures secured with different diameter K-wires. The second project compared the stiffness between ACL grafts
that had been pre-conditioned with various parameters. Both projects involved animal samples and Instron testing.
Hong Kong, China: WPI Interactive Qualifying Project (IQP) November 2012 to March 2013
Worked in Hong Kong, with three other WPI students, to determine a connection between one’s entrepreneurship
opportunities and his or her quality of life. We suggested ways in which new towns, currently under development in
Hong Kong, can be designed to increase overall quality of life. This was an extensive project requiring multiple
presentations, a complete project proposal, a final project report, and several weeks of language and culture classes.
Worcester, MA: WPI Biomedical Engineering Design (BME Design) August 2012 to October 2012
The goal of this project was to create a product in seven weeks that will assist in the measurement of systolic blood
pressure, does not use electricity, and can be used with minimal training. This project was completed in a group of
three people and involved the use of varying design strategies as well as designing programs such as CAD.
