Professional Synopsis
Citi Group, Warren 02/2013 Till Present
Senior Abinitio Developer, Project Lead
Project: Global Trading Profit and Loss
Module: Data Distribution Interface
Global Trading Profit & Loss system is a multi-entity, multi-currency,
multi-million dollar development of Securities Product Processor for all
Cash positions of Citigroup. The project deals with complete life cycle of
a back office life cycle of a trade from:
- Trade Capture and Profit and Loss calculation.
- Mark to market.
- Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Reporting and Posting to Ledger
- Capability to make adjustments and corrections to the system to
defer any system or application error.
- Downstream feed generation for front to back reconciliation.
The objective is to provide partner systems in finance area for Citigroup
with daily position, account and security feeds based on system defined
SLA. The project was enhanced to have partner systems pull the feed from
GTPL server, thereby reducing significant number of FTP jobs across eight
processing regions.
Responsibilities:
. Implemented the pull architecture for feed consumption by downstream
systems, thereby reducing 100+ jobs in critical window of batch
processing.
. Generic implementations in Abinitio for future changes and
compatibilities with new systems. This is handled mainly by external xfr,
dml files, parameterized graphs and normalization of database
architecture.
. Database driven configurable feed generation for all partner systems.
. Minimum or no software change to create a new feed or to onboard a new
partner system.
. Functioned as key player in business requirements analysis, task
estimations, design document creation, development, integration testing,
status reporting, and monitoring change control and defect management.
. Supported the weekly management of project task planning, delivery
deadline update, and attended weekly defects and release status call with
onshore offshore coordination.
. Database Server Oracle 11g, well supported, feature rich, high
performance/high availability relational database is used for DB
operations.
. Subversion was used for version control and Quality center was used as
defect tracking tool.
. Performed peer design and code reviews to ensure requirements are
correctly implemented and guidelines are met.
. Re-engineered the autosys job scheduling structure there by reducing the
job dependency complexity.
Environment: Abinitio 3.0, Database Server Oracle 11g, Autosys R11, LINUX
(Red Hat 4.1.2 - 54)
Citi Group, Warren 06/2012 - 01/2013
Senior Abinitio Developer, Project Lead
Project: Global Trading Profit and Loss
Module: Basel Reporting and Ledger Posting
The objective of this project was to avoid the manual adjustment by product
controllers arising out of GTPL due to posting forwards trades to ledger
without intercompany delineation and to classify Unrealized Gain or Loss as
asset or liability correctly. Additionally, it was required to minimize the
job runtime in the critical window of EOD batch cycle and thereby maintain
the SLA for the critical feeds for the product controllers.
Responsibilities:
. Implemented the ledger posting of inventory and market value at trade
level to classify the asset and liability at intercompany vs third party
level.
. Implemented the generic dataset to create ledger and Basel 3 feeds. This
helped to resolved reconciliation issues between Dun and Bradstreet
ledger and BASEL reports.
. Coordination with Business analyst in understanding the data from all the
upstream systems and its use in implementing the tests for market
exposure reporting.
. Implementation of functionalities in Abinitio, Oracle DB and Linux
server.
. Effective job scheduling using autosys to minimize the lag, concurrent
runs across regions for same ledger.
. Database configuration including table partitioning and indexing to
stabilize the database.
. Archiving of the unused data for analysis and to improving the
performance of daily batch jobs.
. Reconciliation of daily posting Vs period to date balance and highlight
it in daily wellness report.
Environment: Abinitio 3.0, Database Server Oracle 11g, Autosys R11, LINUX
(Red Hat 4.1.2 - 54)
Citi Group, Warren 06/2011 - 06/2012
Team Lead
Project: Global Trading Profit and Loss
Module: International Settlement Strategy
Responsibilities:
. Implemented the logic to consume the compressed non-intra firm trades
based on customer accounts, thereby reducing the daily trade processing
and settlement volume.
. Developed the system adapter in abinitio to consume the XML trades from
partner systems bridge queue directly, read and parse the XML message,
apply compression filter and product based filter and generate a system
compatible flat file for processing.
. Created a database configuration which would prevent any software change
to consume compressed trades for new set of customers.
. Implemented the configuration based filter logic to consume dark pool
compressed trades in future with no software change.
. Work with business to identify the in scope customers for this migration.
. Understanding and analysis of incoming trade feed so as to continue
consuming gross trades before the cutoff date.
. Interaction with Business users, clients during the application
developments.
. Flow design and implementation of functionalities in ETL, PL SQLs shell
scripts.
. Packaging of modules, post production activities which includes the
knowledge transfer to support team.

process the trade at real time.
. TIBCO RV was to publish and trigger the BW application for further
action and processing.
. Helped in significantly improving the trade processing per second by
effectively using the TIBCO BW multi thread concept.
