Chief Building Official, City of St. Louis Park, MN. 2002 to 2014

Provide daily direction, leadership, and professional guidance to staff of 7 full time and 2 part time

Inspectors. Increased department productivity by developing and implementing new policies and

procedures that reduced the average time needed for plan reviews, and increased overall

efficiency in inspection process.

Directed department participation in plan development, and provided technical code

knowledge and accurate code interpretations throughout the plan review and inspection phases,

on over $1B worth of new construction and redevelopment within the city.

staff.

Responsible for the preparation, management and control of Inspections Department

annual budget.

Building and Zoning Official, City of Hiawatha, IA. 1994 to 1999

Increased public safety by supervising the adoption and implementation of current building,

electric, fire, plumbing and mechanical codes. Directed preparation, adoption and

implementation of city’s first ordinance requiring contractors to be licensed.

Requests for Zoning Code compliance, and was responsible for Zoning Code enforcement.
