Dear Hiring Manager

I am applying for the Coal Mining Engineer position. I learned of this position through the

jobview website. I am open to relocation for possible job openings. I graduated from Virginia Tech in

December 2013 with a B.S. in Mining Engineering.

I have been working with engineering and architecture software since high school so proficiency

with similar programs comes quickly to me. Over the course of my education I have used AutoCAD and

Carlson quit extensively. I have worked with other mining software and can quickly get up to speed with

these. I have worked for three separate summers in retail so I have great customer relation skills. I have

lead multiple group mining projects obtaining great organizational skills and the ability to work with a

variety of people in a team. I was required to give many presentations pertaining to mining projects

during which I achieved strong verbal communication skills. During my time at college I spent a large

number of hours writing comprehensive reports for mining projects. Any of the physical capabilities for

the job I can easily meet.

I believe that I would be able to easily develop client relationships due to my three summers in

retail. During mining courses at Virginia Tech I proposed projects to both fellow students and to

professors. I took extra coursework in environmental engineering which gives me a greater knowledge

and appreciation of the world’s resources. I can meet any duties or responsibilities asked of me.
