Telecom Specialist

Provided high-level technical support for the telecommunications and voicemail systems to ensure optimal

productivity of approximately 350 users across 16 outlet stores and corporate headquarters. Implemented and

led all telecom-related projects, which included ordering equipment, scheduling manpower and services, and

provisioning of CO trunks, dedicated lines, and T1. Maintained the wiring infrastructure, created initial annual

telecom budgets, and managed vendor relationships, including the corporate Verizon Wireless account.

Expanded Responsibilities

Maintained and administered Avaya 8500/8300 media server s, Avaya Site Administrator (ASA), and

Intuity AUDIX voicemail system, including changes, add -ons, moves, time-of-day coverage, tenant-

splitting, and vector/VDN development.

Oversaw maintenance and upkeep of telecom system and wiring infrastructure (including network, serial,

public address) for corporate headquarters and all outlet stores.

Proactively communicated with vendors and service companies; negotiated costs for long-distance, PRI,

and other services.

Key Contributions:

Developed low-voltage cabling requirements/standards and new store setup procedures, including

voice/data circuit, cable, and jack ordering, implemented on a company-wide basis.

Established company’s first call conferencing, and then pay-as-you-go conferencing service for larger

conferences, which lowered travel expenses by reducing site visits to outlet stores.

Introduced cloud-based fax-to-email service that reduced copier repair and paper costs.

Telecom Specialist

As an independent contractor, managed a variety of residential and commercial data and telecom projects

involving phone system installations/expansions/relocations, cabling, and data/network troubleshooting.

Commercial clients included: Marotta Scientific (former employer), Independent Customer Solutions, Primary

Care Associates of NJ, RAM Medical, Benefits Plus, The Science Registry, and Rockaway Pharmacy.

Project Highlights:

Installed Partner Mail VS R5 voicemail system for RAM Medical, including configuration of night-only

Auto Attendant, Record-a-Call, and staff training on mailbox usage and call transference.

Played key role in Benefits Plus office relocation; rewired office space, set up PC (with various

applications) and wireless network, and devised computer backup scheme. Retained by company, since

November 2004, to provide ongoing support of hardware, software, network connectivity, and telephony.

Rewired new location of The Science Registry for voice and data, consisting of approximately 15 locations

and 30 drops, all of which were terminated and tested.

Installed new security cameras for Marotta Scientific, including cable runs (with electrician). In addition,

installed and/or troubleshot computers for broadband data sharing and rectified problems concerning

data collection system, networking, and Definity voicemail system.

ECHOSTAR (TEKsystems), Pine Brook, NJ 5/2002 to 8/2002

A global satellite services provider and developer of hybrid video delivery technologies.

PBX Technician / Consultant

Hired for 90-day contract position to provide maintenance and administration of the Lucent G3R, including

moves, add-ons, changes, vector/VDN modifications, and the Definity AUDIX voicemail in this call center

environment. In addition, performed day-to-day PC maintenance, including upgrades, writing procedures,

revising spreadsheets, and documenting changes, and held full responsibility for the cabling infrastructure.

Scheduled and interfaced with service technicians, as needed, and communicated with vendor s and

management in the Colorado office.
