Summary
Over twenty five years experience in manufacturing process
and conversion of polypropylene and polyethylene. Have hands
on type experience and have worked my way up through
different production, maintenance and supervisor capacities.
My specialty is in blown film extrusion. In addition,
currently I am extrusion manager, although my experience in
conversion of T-shirt merchandise and draw string bags are a
compliment to my production history. I am very interested in
using the experience that I have obtained to help implement
new technology and improving processes in the ever growing
plastics field with an energetic advancing company.
Work History
2002- Present Extrusion Manager/ Technical Manager, Waste Zero,
Hemingway South Carolina.
Start up extrusion department. Trained associates on safety
quality and operation of Kiefel 3-layer blown film extruders.
Established standard operating procedures in manufacturing of
film to be converted for drawstring waste disposal bags.
Developed system of extruding sheet film from a blown film
extruder to produce draw tape. Developed two-color three-
layer reversible bag film. Experience in MLLDPE, LLDPE,
VLDPE, LD, HD, MMHD, EVA and CACO3. Purchased all virgin
resins, additives and colorant and scheduled on time
deliveries. Developed custom blends, scheduled all film
production in a very high changeover environment. Managed and
maintained all periodic maintenance. Troubleshoot and
repaired all extrusion related problems. Worked well with
conversion department to decrease changeover downtime and
increase efficiency in conversion of film.
1990-2002 Supervisor, Vanguard Plastics, Richmond, VA / Jacksonville, FL
Supervised twenty six shift associates in process and
conversion of high density polyethylene T sacks, using Alpine
-Elba 90 mm, 75mm, 65mm and 50mm tri-layer, co-layer and
single blown film extruders and Elba high speed three and
four strand bag corona treat and three roll and wiper blade
printing system conversion machines. Responsible for daily
safety, quality and production.
1980-1990 Supervisor, Midstates Packaging USX Corporation, Charlotte, NC
Supervised twenty-one employees in manufacturing of
polypropylene strapping machines, beginning with
inventory control thru quality assurance. I was able to
obtain highest output of machines in company history
with no quality issues.
