Project Management: Record of achievement in planning and executing large-scale programs that drive brand
awareness and increase revenue. As Assistant Director, Westchester Community College Foundation’s Native

Assistant Director (2009-December, 2012)
Served in a key leadership role in support of the ongoing growth and development of this nonprofit dedicated to
educating people about the importance of wildflowers and native plants of the Northeast. Led and coordinated
efforts of the special programs coordinator, volunteer staff, and work study students to execute various events,
including the annual plant sale and awards gala, lectures, member-only trips, fundraising efforts, and the spring
and autumn landscape conference. Liaised with the continuing education department. Spearheaded the
development of ideas that support membership growth and maintenance. Promoted numerous times during tenure

Key Contributions:
Revenue Growth: Leveraged practical application of social media and marketing strategies to promote the
center’s annual plant sale, increasing native plant revenue .
Created a blog as a vehicle to share information regarding the native plants and the plant sale.
Authored 3 blogs weekly, which included bios of the center’s steering committee, provided a forum for

Executive Leadership: Assumed role as acting director for 10 months subsequent to the existing director’s

Editor In Chief (1998)
Managed the budget to produce this bi-weekly award-winning newspaper from concept through design and
production. Met with staff on a weekly basis to evaluate and assign story ideas. Trained and motivated 24 staff
members, section editors, writers, photographers, business and advertising managers, and a distribution manager.
Interacted with off-campus vendors, faculty, and students. Met weekly with the President of the college to review
campus activities. Maintained the integrity of the paper.
Trends Section Editor (1997-1998)
Created the trends section of the newspaper after developing and conducting a survey to identify areas to improve the
readership base. Assigned and edited stories for 8 staff writers. Utilized Photoshop, PageMaker, and digital technology
to design and develop a 6-10 page section. Produced an award-winning publication.
