I started out as general labor basic duties such as mowing/weeding/edging etc. Gradually given

more responsibilities such as taking care of equipment and supplies-supervising crew members

and training new crew members-overseeing rental properties and light maintenance-some

scheduling-inspection of rental properties. Owner of company Joey Haycraft moved back to

Maryland due to illness and closed business. I began going to UCO full time and kept a few of

Joey's smaller accounts for PT income. This is the reason for employment gap.

My duties included light office work such as sorting mail-answering phone-order office supplies

and inventory. Load oil into tanker trucks-help mill oil- maintain grounds-ensure grounds met

safety standards-some road construction work when needed-secure buildings at night by setting

alarms locking all gates into business tuning on security lights etc. Clean office and adjoining

buildings. Strip and wax tile floors and clean carpet as needed. I left because my wife and I

divorced and it was her family's business.

Duties included project work such as strip/wax tile-carpet cleaning-construction cleanup-window

washing. Building inspection/quality control. Train new employees-start up new accounts-fill in

work during holidays-bad weather and no show employees. Update alarm codes and keys. Order

supplies for buildings. This job required major people skills as well as problem solving skills and

flexibility as I was on call for emergencies. I really enjoyed this job because the owner heavily

depended on me and empowered me to make decisions concerning the company. I left because I

succumbed to the constant requests to go to work for my wife’s family business which did include

quite a substantial pay raise.

I started out part time general office cleaning. I needed more hours so after 6 months or so they

moved me to full time. After a year or so of proving myself dependable they asked me to be

supervisor of 4 large office buildings. My new duties included building inspections/quality control-

inventory and ordering supplies-collecting time cards adding hours-picking up checks and handing

out to employees-training new employees-talking with tenants to ensure they are receiving

satisfactory service-project work such as carpet cleaning and tile maintenance-upkeep of

equipment-emergency fill in work as needed. I left because I found job with much better pay and

benefits.
