. Worked within the Xbox Publishing Platform organization testing a

application (GGCert) integrated properly with other systems. After GGCert

shipped, I tested a new User Interface for the Mastering team. This

discs and other game content.

. As the main tester for the Engineering Excellence group's CheckPoint

Express application, I drove the User Interface testing effort for the

latest major release - from the early planning stages, through User

Acceptance Testing and to final release. I was responsible for testing

all hotfixes and QFE's.

. Working closely with Program Management and a small development team, I

was responsible for filing bugs and creating test cases in a Team

Foundation Server database. Tasks were created and managed in TFS. The

team was able to meet all milestones and the project shipped on time.

. I coordinated bug bashes and worked directly with users in regular-

scheduled UAT sessions to ensure that the product was in accordance with

user requirements. Assigned test areas and test scripts to test

participants. I scheduled build and deploy tasks and worked with the

Operations team to push out latest versions of the application the team's

production, demo, Test and UAT environments. I performed Build

Verification Testing on each new build prior to official testing. After a

build completes testing, I sign off on each as appropriate.

. As part of the Concordance QA team, performed testing on a suite of

litigation support software products. This included daily testing of

desktop and web-based applications, setting up test environments,

maintaining databases, bug reporting, and communicating results.

Microsoft Corporation - Test Lead March 2005 to March 2006

. As Test Lead for the Xbox Application Production team, I tested internal

and external web applications used by Microsoft employees and industry

partners. Reviewed technical specifications, wrote test plans and test

cases, filed bugs and coordinated with developers and project managers to

keep the projects on track. I was responsible for certifying these

projects for release to production.

. Lead and primary tester for the X-Certification database project, a web-

based application created to streamline the billion-dollar Xbox and

Xbox360 game certification process. Constantly-changing business

requirements dictated by users from both the US and the UK made this a

challenging project that went through several revisions and required a

flexible development and testing approach.

. Helped establish structured software development processes within the

team. After the development team makes a build available, this position

required access to source control, copying required files and running the

appropriate SQL scripts to propagate the build to the test servers. After

it passed Build Verification Testing, it was made available for a full

test pass.

. Regularly coordinated User Acceptance Testing with the team's customers,

which allowed the team to learn how customers used the tools and quickly

resolve issues as they arise. Scheduled and coordinated weekly bug triage

Microsoft Corporation - Software Test Engineer March 5, 2001 to

February 28, 2005

. Performed daily Enterprise testing for WTT, an internal test suite that

Microsoft released within the company and eventually to its vendor

partners. Working with both the development team and the test team,

installed Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 on several server-class

machines and set these machines up to work as an Enterprise to simulate a

large-scale deployment. Clients were installed against the enterprise

controller and would execute jobs sent from the controller.

. Set up, managed, and maintained a 200-machine lab that ran daily

reliability and stress tests. These included both 32-bit and 64-bit

machines and operating systems ranging from Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000,

Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Longhorn, which were used as

clients for daily enterprise Stress testing, running several hundred

thousand tests a night.

. Wrote test plans to define the scope of testing for the various projects

I was involved in. Also wrote specifications for projects and tools

created within my team. Wrote test cases for each feature in my area and,

where possible, automated test cases using XML in conjunction with

scripts and internal tools. While working on the WTT project, wrote test

cases for the majority of the features. Created over 600 test cases in

the internal database and helped define the scope of early testing in a

two-month period.

. Set up, managed and maintained a laptop migration lab. I wired this

office to accommodate 35 test machines, set up network connectivity,

ensured that all test systems were attached to the debugger, and

maintained a state of readiness to assure the smooth flow of daily tests.

Ran Visual Basic and C++ automation scripts.

. Performed laptop migration testing for Windows XP. These laptops were

used to test migration from down-level operating systems to Windows XP

Professional and Home versions. After the release of Windows XP, focus

shifted to Windows XP Service Packs, Windows Server 2003 & Windows

Longhorn.

. Assisted new team members by providing training, feedback and mentoring

in order to familiarize them with team procedures and their assigned

tasks. Worked with several versions of various internal databases to

report, track and resolve bugs.
