Senior VMware Engineer
ATOS is a global engineering company and is expanding its business in the
areas of power generation and distribution, industrial automation and water
technologies. The goal of the project is to consolidate ATOS Business
environment and provide support for the virtual environment. I performed
following roles and responsibilities during my tenure in ATOS.
> Designed, implemented and maintained Branch in the Box (BIB) solutions
for sites with specific requirements using Net App 2040 filer, Cisco 4948
switches and Fujitsu RX 300 S6 servers.
> Designed and implemented virtual environment using VMware ESXi 5.0 and
4.1 along with virtual centre 4.1 and 2.5 on Fujitsu servers and created
clusters for high availability (HA) and distribute resource scheduling
(DRS).
> Used Cisco system UCS Manager to monitor and manage the vBlock.
> Deployed virtual machines from templates and configured Windows 2003,
2008 and Linux 5.x and 6.x on them as per the co-operate guidelines.

AXA Technology is a leading financial service provider. To achieve a single
point of control over a geographically distributed infrastructure, AXA
decided to consolidate and merge all the data centres into one.
> Installed and Configured ESX 3.5 host servers and virtual centre 2.5 on
IBM 3950 servers, in the new data centre and created farms as per the
requirement.
> Created vSwitch and configured vNetwork, vMotion, Resource Pools, HA and
DRS for the virtual environment.
> Deployed Linux and Windows virtual machined from templates and cloned an
existing VM as per the client request through the change management
process.

VMware Engineer
CNA Insurance is one of the largest commercial insurance providers. The
goal was to migrate\consolidate 800 plus servers from an old data centre
into new data centre. It included virtualizing the physical servers, moving
the storage arrays and the legacy physical servers.
> Installed and configured ESX 3.0 on Dell 6850 and 2850 servers in the new
data centre.
> Racked and stacked the servers and configured RSA for the IBM servers.
> Created resource pools and enabled v-motion on ESX host servers.
> Captured images of physical machines (P2I) and deployed them on to the
servers (I2P) configured on test VLAN.
> Converted P2P (physical to physical) and P2V (physical to virtual) using
plate spin power converter version 6.8, during migration.
> Performed backup of virtual machines using TSM software.

The first phase of the project was to consolidate 300 physical servers in
the USA data centre. The second phase of the project was to
migrate\consolidate more than 500 servers from the data centre in UK to
USA.
> Racked and Stacked HP Proliant DL series servers and configured ILO and
secured the servers.
> Installed and Configured ESX 3.0 and virtual centre 2.0 on HP Proliant DL
series servers.
> Monitored the servers using HP Open Manage tool and generated resource
utilization reports.
> Created virtual switches and configured network connections using virtual
centre server.
> Created templates with standard OS and deployed VM's from these
templates.
> Gathered information for the servers in UK and USA, like their disk space

Project: Maintaining and Managing the IT Infrastructure with IPv6.
Windows System Administrator
Microsoft Corporation, an IT giant gave me a perfect platform to elevate my
career where I worked as a windows system administrator with the Microsoft
IT team to implement and maintain internet protocol version 6 in Microsoft
Corporation's IT infrastructure. During this project I performed the
following duties:
> Installed and configured windows Vista OS (RC and RTM builds) and windows
2008 (RC and RTM builds) on different desktops and servers and checked
the OS functionalities for various services such as DNS, DHCP, shares and
security, user accounts and policies.
> Tracked bugs and worked with concerned teams to resolve them and
documented the solution to prepare knowledge base article.
