Major Projects
. Ameriprise-IBM Technology Transformation or AITT is one of the biggest
transformations which ever happened to Ameriprise infrastructure. In
this project, all the applications should be migrated over to St
Louis/Lexington data centers which are managed by IBM. The citrix
applications which are identified to be a part of the AITT migration
are currently being migrated and we have completed 80% of the apps and
other infra servers. The AITT environment is a robust environment with
all new technology features and components. This project involved 8 of
our technical resources and 2 managers.
. Columbia Management Integration was a major take over spread over a
period of 1 year during which the IT set up used by Columbia had to be
migrated over to Ameriprise network. A new Citrix farm was created to
accommodate 3000+ users needing access to over a 200 applications. The
project involved 4 technical resources and 2 project managers and was
delivered by the onsite team.
. Domain migration: This was another critical project which got
completed 3 months back where the users and computers are being
migrated to a new Active Directory domain. New policies are being
defined for better governance and user profiles and file shares are
being created on the servers in the new domain.
. XenApp 5.0 upgrade: Citrix server farm which has 200 servers was
upgraded from version 4.0 to 5.0 over a period of 8 months to improve
technical capabilities, administrative functions, enhance security and
availability and better user interface. All servers were upgraded with
the new software and hotfix. There were 8 technical resources and 2
managers involved in this upgrade.
. Thin Client Integration: Thin Client devices were introduced to reduce
purchase and maintenance cost of a client machine and to give remote
access capability to an end user. The project involved migrating thick
client/laptop users to thin clients and making their applications
available via web so it can be accessed from anywhere thus giving them
any workplace abilities.
. Other key projects were system integration of Seligman with
Ameriprise, Windows 7 pilot migration for desktop users, Data
migration of Columbia Users to Ameriprise file shares, Application
packaging for tier 4 software and tools, New Data Centre migration and
Disaster recovery set up.
