Trailer Prep/Maintenance
Full inspection of each stainless steel insulated tanker for safe chemical
shipment by ensuring the tank is clean and dry. Changing out gaskets on all
caps, valves, manhole, and outlets. Performing a vacuum test on the
internal/external valve. Dissembling and repairing if needed. Pressure test
with soap for any leaks especially checking the valves and union then
repairing as needed. Basic maintenance of fenders, mud-flaps, ball valves,
electrical system, catwalk, any caps, insulation, skin, trailer air brake system,
and kingpin. Inspect for proper tire pressure, correct alignment, suspension,
brake valves, wheel bearings and all other suspension items. Inspect and
repair wheel seals if needed. Light usage of oxy acetalyne cutting torch and
brazing. As well as mig welding, machine press, grinder, drill press, using a
caliper to the thousandths of an inch. Transporting loaded and unloaded
trailers using a yard mule with light training in driving a tractor. usually
includeds reversing a trailer into the maintenance bay or inbetween other
trailers.
