Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

I assist in child care/teaching in a preschool/child care facility. I currently work in the 3 year old classroom,

however, am fully able and capable to work in any of our classrooms as needed which accommodate children

ages infant to school age.

Accomplishments

I made a connection with many of the children the first day.

Skills Used

I have the skills to get down at their level and work with/direct them, which has proven a good quality to have.

They really liked that I was able to get down on the floor and work with them as many teachers do not do this.

I also have great communication skills with children as well as adults.

Residential Treatment Counselor RTC 1

Responsibilities

Residential treatment counselor (RTC) for high-risk adolescent girls (ages 12-21) Behavior Rehabilitation

Services programs. RTC provides structure and supervision for residents in a therapeutic environment using a

trauma-informed, positive youth development approach to care. Model, coach, and counsel residents in daily

living tasks, as well as the development of all aspects of social skills. RTC role includes team approach, crisis/

conflict management, documentation, adherence to policy/procedures, as well as housekeeping related tasks

to model and ensure safe/clean environment for residents.

Accomplishments

I was able to relate to these girls and have gained their trust. They feel safe and secure talking and working

with me. If I got through to one girl, or helped one girl throughout my time here, then I feel accomplished. These

girls come from rough/troubled pasts, so if I can help even one girl learn some positive skills and take those

with her, then I have done my job.

Skills Used

Patience is the number one skill utilized in this job. Also compassion, understanding, coping skills, people

skills, professionalism, customer service, and office skills as well as cleaning.

Loss Prevention Detective

Macys Loss Prevention - Tigard, OR - November 2012 to August 2013

Responsibilities

Use of CCTV systems with DVR's, computers,Investigation Techniques, apprehension of shoplifters, and

reduction of shortage. This job also included first aid/CPR/AED response when needed, customer service,

paperwork, answering multi line phone system, respond to lost children reports, and often work with Tigard

police department and District Attorney.

Accomplishments

I initiated and apprehended numerous shoplifters as well as had a couple high internal case values.

Skills Used

Investigative skills, customer service, communication skills, orally and written, and learned interviewing

techniques.

Childcare Provider

Shekinah Christian Ministries - Portland, OR - January 2000 to January 2003

I ran the church nursery and took care of children ages infant-3 years old three times a week. I played with

them, made sure they were safe, fed them and came up with fun activities to keep them occupied so their

parents could attend church services.
