ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Project : LINE FAULT DETECTION BY USING GSM TECHNOLOGY

Duration : MAR 2013 to MAY 2014

Place : H.M.S Institute of Technology, Tumkur

Environment :Microsoft office 2007,MPLAB

Main Tools : GSM Modem, Microcontroller, Relays, Transformers, Sensors, LCD Display.

Synopsis : GSM is the technology that underpins most of the world's mobile phone networks. Our

system consists of sensors to check line faults, surges sparks and overvoltage, current transformer to check

short circuit .The output of sensors are connected to analog inputs of microcontroller for digital conversion

by using ADC. The output of ADC is stored in memory locations and then compared with standard

reference values of lookup table to decide whether the specific parameter is safer or not.

The software of the project is entered into the chip by using programmer after successful

simulation. The software embedded in the chip will check different points of the power line and senses each

parameter carefully. When an abnormality is found the specific unit is turned off automatically to control

the sub-unit from damage

COURSES & CERTIFICATION

I have done internship Project on ”Electrical Drives in Wire Rod Mill “ in Jindal Steel and

Power Ltd, Patratu, Jharkhand. There I have monitor the working of different types of

electrical instruments used in plant under guidance of experts and studied power supply from sub-

station, transformers to different motors and other instruments, maintenance of them and switch

gear for safety.

• Environment Familiar : Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.

• Software Knowledge: Basic Knowledge of C, Solid Edge and AutoCadd.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

• Presented a Technical Seminar in 8th Sem titled “Flexible AC Transmission System”

• Participated in Technical paper presentation program in 2012 Organized under ISTE

student chapter and ABHIDYUM club HMSIT, Dept. of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

and presented a paper titled “Solar Thermal Electricity Generating System”.
