MICRO CONTROLLERS
AVR Atmega 16/32: Got in touch with this controller for usage in hobby and college projects such as Secure
•
e-voting architecture, Scrolling LED display, RGB Led control via USB and sample interfacing projects such
as LCD and fingerprint scanner. I have self learned to program this controller using AVR C library from the
online resource at http://www.nongnu.org/avr-libc/
PIC 16F877A: Used in the college mini project: Vehicle density based traffic control.
•
8051: Learned this μC during the college days. Coding was done in assembly language. Projects such as
•
interfacing with LCD's and stepper motor, wave form generations using DAC, etc.
8085(μP): Learned this μP during the college days. Coding was done in assembly language and simulation
•
done in a hardware simulator.
Some of my projects can be found at my blog: http://vijay32.uboxi.com/hobby-projects/
SIMULATION SOFTWARES
LtSpice: This simulator was used to design mini project circuits such as FM transmitter. I have chosen this
•
simulator to start due to its ease of use.
Pspice: After the usage of Ltspice, I used one of the widely used electronic circuit simulators.
•
Online simulators: In order to do simple simulations on daily basis, the simulator found at
•
http://www.falstad.com/circuit/ is useful.

PROGRAMMING BACKGROUND
Languages:
C : Well versed with C programming language. I have used this language mostly for programming embedded
•
devices. Projects such as Secure e – voting architecture, Vehicle density based traffic control (college projects),
PC based RGB led color controller were programmed using this language. My score in C programming paper
in college was 95.
C++: I have been experienced with this language since school days. My first programming project which
•
consists of around 2500 lines is written using the C++ language. Embedded project's(RGB led controller)
frontend interface is written using C++ and GUI framework: QT.
VC# .Net: Completed a certification program with NIIT.
•
Linux shell scripting(Bash) : Shell scripts were programmed and used at my previous work place. I have used
•
Shell scripts to automate compiling process during embedded projects.
ANALOG ELECTRONICS
Experience with analog circuits includes – Power circuits – TRIAC based voltage controllers, Rectifiers and
ambient light based lamp control. Amplifiers – Opamps and transistor based, Miniature FM transmitter and other mini
project circuits done in college.
EMBEDDED PROJECTS
Project Title: Vehicle Density Based Traffic Control
Skill Used: PIC, Circuit Design.
•
Project Details: This product is designed to generate traffic signals based on traffic density
•
using PIC Microcontroller. The Normal ones generate signals based on timing.
Project Title: Secure e-voting architecture
Skill Used: AVR C, Circuit Design.
•
Project Details: The aim of the project is to improve the security of the ordinary electronic voting
•
machines(EVM) by introducing modern networking and biometric technologies into it. The entire voting
process is monitored by authorities from a website which is password protected. The machine alerts the
authorities with SMS in case of fraud. Each voter is uniquely identified using fingerprint.
Project Title: Moving LED Display
Skill Used: AVR C, Circuit Design.
•
Project Details: Displays Strings of preprogrammed texts on a matrix(8x16) of white led's.
•
Project Title: RGB LED Control via USB.
Skill Used: AVR C, Circuit Design, QT GUI programming.
•
Project Details: This mini project was done to get the basic idea of the working of the USB. Atmega 16
•
microcontroller is interfaced with PC through USB. The firmware for USB is obtained from
http://www.obdev.at/products/vusb/index.html. The control panel for controlling the red, green
and blue components is written in QT framework for Linux.

INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE
Joined Bobcares on April 2013 as Server administrator. One of my primary task was to write custom
shell scripts to audit servers and to perform migration tasks. Other tasks involved server monitoring, third
party software installation and configurations and handling security issues like spamming and
hacking.
LINUX SERVER
Worked with both debian based servers like Ubuntu and Redhat based servers like Centos. Work at Bobcares
gave exposure to server related tasks such as building up different servers like Mail server from scratch. Familiar with
Linux security due to the monthly server audits done at the company.
OTHER PROJECTS
Project Title: Mail server setup
• Client: Workscom(www.workscom.com.br)
• Role: Network/System Administrator
• Skill Used: Linux, Postfix, MySQL
• Project Details: Setup a mail server from scratch that hosts 3000+ email accounts. The Mail server uses
Ubuntu Linux as the operating system and Postfix as the email server. Server also uses PostfixAdmin to
manage email accounts.
Project Title: Server audit script
• Client: Bobcares
• Role: Network/System Administrator
• Skill Used: Bash, Linux
• Project Details: Developed a bash script to perform security audit on servers. The script runs on Linux
cPanel servers and emails the output in HTML format. This is converted to PDF document and
delivered to Bobcares clients.
