Objective

Seeking a position in mechanical engineering design, development, and analysis.

Education

Master of Science Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering University of California, Davis (expected) 2014 3.5 GPA

Bachelor of Science Engineering, Computational Applied Science University of California, Davis 2010 3.6 GPA

Associates of Science Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering Cosumnes River College 2007 3.8 GPA

Skill Summary

Engineering • Skilled in both analytical and numerical methods used to analyze engineering

analysis problems in the domains of thermodynamics, solid mechanics, heat transfer, and fluid

dynamics. I have not only used available FEA software, but have written my own finite

difference, finite element, and finite volume solvers, and am currently finishing a

multi-physics solver on contract to AFRL through the university.

Design • Familiar with most well known 3D modeling packages, but am most proficient in 3D

studio max, Autocad, and Solidworks.

Programming • Skilled in scientific computation using a variety of programming languages from

Fortran, C++, C#, to Python, and several others.

Quality Control • Performed white and black box testing for software, as well as quality control on

and Testing electrical and mechanical hardware such as power supplies, pumps, water quality

samplers, GPS units, and lab instrumentation.

Technical Writing • Completed technical design documents, project reports, BOMs, and research reports.

Presentation • Confident public speaker and an effective communicator. I have given preparatory

presentations for students wishing to pass the fundamentals of engineering exam, won

an award for public speaking through the college of engineering, and given project

presentations in both academic and corporate settings.

Recent Experience

University of California, Davis

Graduate Student Researcher 07 / 2010 – Present

• Developing a parallel architecture (MPI and GPU), conjugate (heat transfer and fluid mechanics),

numerical solver for jet turbine engines, and integrating it into a broader multi-physics code base for the Air

Force Research Lab (AFRL).

• Coordinating efforts with a dynamic team of professors and students both local and out of state.

• Writing monthly progress reports that includes post processing, visualization, and analysis of results of

validation cases.

• Wrote technical documentation outlining the project.

• Currently writing technical paper for submission to CFD journal.

Graduate Teaching Assistant 09 / 2010 - 06 / 2013

• Assisted the professor with following classes: 1x Dynamics, 2x Fluid Mechanics, 2x Thermodynamics, and

2x Thermo-fluids.

• Held office hours to assist students with homework and term projects, and created solution keys for and

graded homework and exams, and provided feedback to instructors on student performance and subject

areas that may need review.

• Taught review sessions for students preparing to take the fundamentals of engineering exam.
