o Configured and deployed RIS/Symantec Ghost Multicast server,
enabling deployment of desktop images to all 500+ workstations.
Installed and configured Windows 2000 Professional and all
mandatory applications, to prep desktop images for firm-wide
migration from unstable Windows 95 workstations. Worked in
cooperation with all heads of IS department to test, critique, and
ensure reliable systems.
o Instituted a new backup strategy, utilizing VERITAS Backup Exec
v8.5. Constructed backup servers, employing fiber optic channels,
and developed tape-labeling system, now used to catalog firm backup
library.
o Redesigned Norton Anti-Virus environment to facilitate the primary
NAV server in supplying all client computers with virus
definitions, and a secondary NAV server in supplying all production
servers. This eliminated previous system flaws and, to date, has
ensured a virus-free network infrastructure.
o Redesigned Active Directory network user and computer accounts into
respective Organizational Units, creating a single point of
administration. This has streamlined the process of setting group
policies and permissions to specific departments.
