I worked as a Human Resources Rep. for roughly two years, before moving to writing. As an HR

rep., I tracked employees’ donations through HR software; processed vacations and FSA claims;

helped edit office procedures and policies; and helped administer medical and dental benefits. I

also wrote safety manuals and procedure manuals. I conducted orientation for interns and new

staff and ran background checks on potential employees. I am very proficient with Microsoft

excel and other Microsoft programs.

As a writer at Gospel for Asia, I created and edited a variety of materials, including video

treatments, web content, catalogs, brochures, advertisements, inserts, mailers, feature stories and

profiles.

February 2006 - August 2010, Staffing Coordinator; HR

I was in charge of scheduling the nursing staff for a 120-bed convalescent hospital, including

processing vacations and conducting orientation for new staff. I handled leaves of absences, on-

site injuries (worker’s compensation) and other related absences. I also analyzed applications to

find qualified candidates, including scheduling interviews and informing applicants if they were

hired or not.

I administered payroll as needed, using Kronos software, and I also helped order supplies for the

hospital.
