Research Assistant Co-op

. Conducted method development experiments exploring multiple reaction

chemistries for membrane protein nanoparticle formation.

. Cultured and transfected HEK293 cells. Successfully expressed and

purified the class-B GPCR Glucagon receptor (GCGR) using FLAG affinity

chromatography.

. Purified milligram quantities of nanodisc scaffold protein from E.Coli

cultures using Ni-affinity chromatography. Incorporated GCGR membrane

protein into lipid Nanodisc.

. Successfully developed nanodisc cross-linking methods, evaluated

various cross-linking reagents. Improved the efficiency, stability

and effectiveness of Nanodisc crosslinking.

. Analyzed the GCGR proteins and nanodiscs using LC-MS, HPLC, Size

exclusion, SDS-PAGE and Western Blot techniques.

. Documented experimental results, wrote reports.

. Interacting with supervisor, actively analyzed objectives and

accomplishments.

. Scientific presentations in group meetings.

. Worked in compliance with company EHS guidelines.

Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., Hyderabad, India

Research Assistant

. Performed purification and characterization of antibodies. Performed

protein aggregate analysis, variant analysis, quantitation,

purification and Immunoassay using modern proteomic techniques

including peptide mapping, glycan analysis and LC-MS/MS of proteins

produced. Chromatography including SEC, IEX and RP.

. Designed and optimized an enhanced production module, verified

statistical significance of 'drug product' production improvement (t-

test), tested productivity in a scaled-up unit.

. Investigated strategies for increasing the productivity of desired

pharmaceutical compounds from cultures, by altering the experimental

design, medium composition and testing different inducers.
