With over 26 years' experience in Mining, of which 10 years is at Senior Management and

executive level, I am a Professional Mining Engineer, with demonstrable Leadership and

Managerial competencies, as well as in depth Technical knowledge of the Mining Industry and

the Mining business, in general. I have earned experience, both in Open pit mining as well as in

Underground hard rock and soft rock mining. I have worked for one of the largest Explosives

Companies in Africa (African Explosives Limited) at Senior Management level, where I was

responsible for both the Technical and Commercial interests of the Company in Botswana. I

have also worked for some of the largest Mining Houses in Africa and the largest Mining

contractors internationally (De Beers/Debswana Diamond Company and Norilsk Nickel/Tati

Nickel Mining Company, Leighton Contractors/Majwe Mining). During the period that I was

working for the companies above, I have held positions responsible for Strategic Planning,

Mining Projects, as well as Mining Operations. I am currently managing a Mining Consulting

company (Marung Development Services).

Core Accomplishments

Project Management:

Started a project, from Project Planning through to execution, on Blasting close to

sensitive structures in Large Open pit mines. This saved Millions of US$ in relocation

costs for structures around the pit.

Introduced Reverse Circulation (RC) Drilling in a Low Grade deposit to improve the

results of the Dynamic Resource Model in predicting Nickel Grade and Ore Tonnes in

the Mining Blocks. This greatly improved the ability to Forecast Nickel Production, and

hence better business planning.

Operations and Cost management:

Improved Mining Operational efficiency through the introduction of Vehicle Monitoring and

Dispatch system at Orapa and Letlhakane Mines and at Tati Nickel Mining Company. This

resulted in huge cost savings in terms of reduced Loading cycle time, reduced Hauling cycle

time, improved Tyre life, Drilling Consumables costs, and reduced Fuel costs.

Safety, Occupational Health and Environment:

Improved Safety record at Orapa Mine and at Tati Nickel through monthly

Departmental Safety campaigns. This also reduced cost of equipment downtime due

to Accident damage.

People Management and Team Building:

Introduced concept for raising funds to celebrate Team member Birthdays and to build team

morale.

Marung Development Services (Pty) LTD

Starting up a Mining Consultancy service and agency business for provision of Mining

consultancy on Drilling and Blasting Optimization, as well as Loading and Hauling

Optimization.

The company is also exploring opportunities for being an agent for supply of Mining and

Petroleum consumables, such as drilling consumables, as well as Steel Pipe Glue for

the Oil and Gas Industry.

Technical Services Manager Aug 2011 to Aug 2013

Majwe Mining Joint Venture (Pty) LTD

Leading a team of professionals (Surveyors, Mine Planers, Mining Systems Engineers,

Mining Engineers) to achieve Mining excellence and Mining Best Practice in a new

mega project that will see the use of some of the biggest mining fleet in the World.

These include 300 tonne trucks and big 100 tonne bucket Rope Shovels.

This is the biggest project of its size in Debswana and De Beers, and in the Mining

industry in Botswana.

My role was to device and implement systems that will enhance efficiency and

effectiveness, amongst the employees and Departments within Majwe and between Majwe

and the Client, with due regard to Safety, Health and Environment.

Manager Mining Operations Feb 2010 to Jul 2011

Tati Nickel Mining Company (PTY) Limited

Managing ALL mining Operations of Tati Nickel Mining Company (Phoenix mine and

Selkirk mine).

The Phoenix Open pit mine is run by Contractor mining, producing a total of 30million

tonnes run off mine, of which 12 million is ore to the plant.

I was 'The Engineer' in terms of this Contract, and the 'Competent Person' in terms of

the Botswana Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act.

The Contractor has 800 people who executed the contract under my stewardship, with

a lot of emphasis on SHERQ and Legal/Statutory compliance.

To manage this contract I had technical support staff comprising Planners, Surveyors,

Geologists, Mining Engineers, Geotechnical Engineers, SHERQ Officers, and an

Accountant reporting to me.

Reporting to Head of Mining.

Manager Selkirk Mine and Mining Projects Sep 2007 to Feb 2010

Tati Nickel Mining Company (Pty) Ltd.

Responsible for the coordination of mining activities at Selkirk mine as the 'Competent

Person' in terms of Regulation 9.4 of the MQW & M Act, as well as the coordination of

Mining Projects at both Phoenix and Selkirk Mines.

Mining activities at Selkirk included the design and development of a 140m pilot

treatment sampling tunnel, as well as backfilling of the underground void left after

pillar recovery.

The Mining projects included the Selkirk Valuation study to determine the best option

for mining the Selkirk resource, as well as the introduction of the Vehicle monitoring

and Dispatch system (Wenco) on the mining fleet at Phoenix mine for the

management and control of material movement, as well as optimisation of equipment

operational efficiency.

Section Manager Mining Projects Jan 2006 to Aug 2007

Tati Nickel Mining Company (Pty) Ltd.

In charge of new projects as well as ongoing improvement projects.

One such project was the successful re opening of an underground mine (Selkirk mine)

to recover the high grade ore that was left in the pillars.

Another project was the introduction of Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling for Dynamic

Resource Modelling at Phoenix mine.

Heading the Jwaneng mine Long Term Planning section which continuously evaluates

and reviews Long Term and Life of Mine plans in order to optimise the value of the

resource.

Heading a multi disciplined team to drive the mining activities of the largest open pit

mine in the group.

The team comprised Accountants, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Mining

Engineers and was responsible for coordinating the activities of the Mining,

Earthmoving, and Ore Delivery/Crushing sections to ensure that Business targets,

including SHERQ, are met.

Responsible for best practice in the Mining Department and aligning the departmental

objectives to the greater strategic objectives of the company.
