Career Highlights
Led crew of intelligence analyst in collecting and verifying threat signals in Benefield Anechoic
Facility (BAF), the world's largest anechoic chamber. Also performed mobile monitoring for
Edwards AFB Combined Test Forces (CTFs) at NAVAIR's ECR at China Lake, ensuring proper
RF parameters were being emitted for missions
Spearheaded creation of ATE program for Remote RF data acquisition from Spectrum
Analyzers. Program written in Agilent VEE, similar to LABVIEW. Collaborated tirelessly with
unit computer scientist and to derive requirements for and help perfect the program in time
for critical EW test.
Led team of Field Engineers, on multiple missions, in mobile ELINT collection van, to White
Sands Missile Range (WSMR) to collect and record RF Environment data for an Edwards AFB
customer. Provided RF parameters, using Matlab based Signal Processing Tools, for interference
analysis and truth data of primary emitters
Determining customer needs and requirements from a technical interchange meeting (TIM);
designed and constructed a test solution for HAVE MABLE Test by mounting a spectrum
analyzer, RF amplifier, and antenna horn to tracking pedestal. Remotely collected spectrum
analyzer data over Ethernet and fiber to laptop. Synthesized data requirement into
modification of unit's ATE Tool
Envisioning test customer requirements; secured $350K to purchase RF Tuner, updated
software HMI, and remote power controllers which streamlined remote monitoring process.
Reduced RF Monitoring manpower requirement in control room by 33%. Also significantly
reduced delivery time of final data product to customer
Professional Experience
Spiral Technology Inc. February 2002 to November 2013
Sr. Engineer Specialist
Lancaster/Edwards AFB, CA
Performed RF Monitoring of all RF activity in Benefield Anechoic Chamber (BAF) environment
during installed systems tests. In this capacity, constantly improved and upgraded the
organizations capabilities by purchasing new antennas, pulse analyzers and software.
Collaborated tirelessly with unit computer scientist and programmers to derive requirements
for and help perfect the units signature ATE program for RF data acquisition. Program written
in Agilent VEE, similar to LABVIEW. Program; the "A" Tool bears name
Spearheaded design, installation, and integration of a unique RF signal collection suite
c entered around Excelis' 5080 system. Resulted in government customer initiating an IDIQ
contract to refine and expand the system with a power monitoring function for the CEESIM
(Combat Electromagnetic Environmental Simulator) Threat Emiters
Acquired two AN/MPQ T3 Threat Simulators, from Air Combat Command, to provide Edwards'
CTFs with a local Ground Based Threat System for Airborne EW functional checks. Using
knowledge of Threats, changed T 3s parameters to successfully support airborne HAVE ZAP
EW test
As Lead RF Monitoring Engineer, for several SAP projects, chose select team to assist, and
interpreted customer requirements into test drawings and collection plans. Determined data
collection priorities
Conducted MADL antenna tests and troubleshooting at F35 Combined Test Force for every
a ssigned A/C using mobile cart mounted Spectrum Analyzer and rod mounted antenna
Computer Sciences Corporation September 2001 to February 2002
Technical Support Engineer
Falls Church VA/Edwards AFB, CA
Operated and maintained SciComm ELINT system during BAF test of B1B and CV 22. Led
integrated team of government, contractor, and military personnel in collection truth data for
threat signals emanated at the aircraft as well as providing situational awareness to the control
room with spectrum analyzer video
Operated and maintained CEESIM, direct inject threat emitter, for B1B Defensive System
Upgrade (DSUP) testing. Interfaced closely with customer in all aspects and modified the
threat scenario scripts to suit dynamic test requirements
603rd Air Control Squadron, USAF June 1997 to July 2001
Chief Radar Maintenance/Squadron Budget Adviser
Aviano AB, Italy
During Kosovo bombing Campaign led shop of 20 military technicians maintaining two
AN/TPS 75 Radars in actions against Serbia. Served as site liaison and first sergeant at deployed
site and later as unit's Resource Advisor, managing $5M budget for 250 man unit. Finished
assignment as Unit Safety Manager, achieving Excellent ratings on Wing Safety Inspection of
the unit. Awarded Kosovo Campaign medal
