In this project the volumes of oil-based fluids were mudded up at the Contractor s Mud plant
according to scheduled volumes, improving mud properties at location with chemicals. Here, the
main responsibility was logistics of mud volumes required for drilling, displacements and
completion. These displacements needed a fairly detailed logistics coordination because,
unfortunately, the surface tanks volumes had a very limited capacity, increasing the number of them
and therefore the risks of environmental and safety management. Good results were successfully
obtained..
Besides logistics, the location was a very sensitive environmental management one working this
matter with success through a closed and effective coordination with Operator s representative,
Mud Engineer and Contractor s Supervisor. Safe job performance was optimal through a
professional and ethical performance. Same way, commitment included going ahead of drilling
potential problems. Optimal fluid quality was so good that fluid volumes were all able to be reused
in other well drilling operations. With this policy Zero damages to the environment and safe
operation of the project were obtained.
Supervision, observations and improvements of all Solids Control Equipment were a goal too.
Computer programs were needed for daily mud reports and mud quality better results as One Trax
and Virtual Hydraulics and Office programs too.
Attended Well Control, Hazards materials disposal, Environmental and Safety training
courses, Rig Pass, One Trax and Virtual Hydraulics training courses.

Responsibilities and Skills RS:
Working with this contractor, I served as a leader Senior Drilling fluids engineer executing Savia
Peru offshore and onshore exploring and developing projects, and Graña Montero onshore ones..
For both Operators, water base mud was used, using an amine as the inhibitory agent, successfully
executed because shales are a very gumbo ones, pure smectite. The responsibilities included
permanent contact with the Operator s Representative, giving recommendations and observations
about better product concentrations according to formation drilled. The same reflected in reduced
drilling fluid costs. Logistics about materials stocks worked good with all drilling team avoiding
potential troublesome issues and solving any problems that eventually arose.
The fluid quality was ensured through daily tests, making fluid quality good enough reducing fluid
costs. This quality also was guaranteed with adequate safe handling of materials, both offshore and
onshore. This contractor needed an aggressive action to get into the narrow market of Peru,
successfully. By now, Halliburton is the head of drilling, completion and work over operations in
Peru.
A major responsibility with the contractor was the training a new quite young staff but intellectually
well qualified, the same are currently exercising the profession of drilling fluids junior engineers on
various projects.
Supervision and, improvement Solids Control Equipment were needed too, resulting in zero
damages of environment. Safety regulations and executions were a goal too.
Computer skills included WS - Express, WS - 2000, DFG and Office programs.
Attended Stop and safety training courses mainly.

Responsibilities and Skills RS:
This fluids contractor is actually Weatherford Fluids of Mexico. I worked with as a Leader Drilling
fluids Senior engineer with exploration and development offshore oil and gas reservoirs being
Pemex the Operator Company. The fluids involved were water-based and oil based muds. These
wells are of a very deep nature, High temperature, H2S, CO2, total fluid loss, underbalanced drilled
and abnormal pressurized, making drilling them a big challenge. Being a Leader, responsibility
automatically increased but giving pretty good results always, according to commitment.
The logistics in the Gulf of Mexico is pretty much difficult because of workload and / or weather
problems, so is very important to project the needs according to the clever use of small places on
location. Responsibilities included the optimization of mud properties, suggesting and advising
Operator s Representative professionally.
Responsibilities included handling, collection and shipping of hazardous wastes and effluents from
the drilling operation.. The regulations were very demanding about environment, resulting in a
successful work. These platforms are abundant of directional drilling wells so the effective
monitoring of the work involved directional Drilling problems alone with no fluid behavior involved.
Support to coordination and, operations manager assistance, were a goal too.
The fluid contractor conducted a rigorous training program to national staff, responsibility
successfully obtained. All of them are already in charge of many projects.
Supervision, improvement and control of the operation of solids control equipment was permanent
and a goal too.
Computer skills included contractor s programs and Office ones.
Attended offshore survival training courses.

Projects with this contractor were to Savia Peru offshore operator and Repsol in the Peruvian
jungle. The objectives, responsibilities and skills relate to water base mud ionic inhibition with
potassium and calcium. The skills for success with these fluids are quite complicated, but that, in
the case described, because of the experience, program objectives were achieved at a reasonable
cost.
The responsibilities than described included logistics, customer permanent treatment, problem-
solving drilling, completion and completion, reports and optimal program management and
personnel training for Peruvian projects Savia operator.
Supervision, improvement and control of the operation of solids control equipment permanent.
Skills performed were all about contractor s mechanized information programs as Mud Trax, One
Trax, and Office programs.

Responsibilities and Skills RS:
The work for this contractor was Onshore in Catu, Bahia, Brazil, in a sensitive area of
environmental control, synthetic fluids, with many lost circulation problems in the well, the same
that were controlled with the test, suggestion and execution in changing fluid properties, improving
its quality, drilling variables, successfully, since the operator paid each barrel des synthetic fluid lost
to the formation. The logistics was referred to fluid volumes, reusable, the same as with the
changes described decreased in transport volumes, improving profitability. It was a relatively short
period of permanency goals reflected changes in the renewal of top managers.
Skills mechanized information programs of the contractors themselves as the One Trax, Virtual
Hydraulics, WS - Express, WS - 2000, DFG, Mud Trax, Office.
Attended at Macae, Laboratory research of the most used drilling fluids at Brazil, Falck Nutec,

Responsibilities and Skills RS:
With Qmax Peru drilling fluids contractor worked on the largest and biggest Gas, Condensate and
Oil Exploration and Development project in Peru which was the Gas de Camisea Project with
advanced oilfield technology. The fluid involved was a potassium sulfate one with glycol and PHPA,
highly inhibitory with optimal results. Project has worked too with Drilling location effluents disposal.
Project location was at Peruvian Jungle, making logistics a tight matter because it is a Rain Jungle
one. Proper management of environmental pollution was highly laborious, added to safety because
the contractor had been fully marketed through the Operator PlusPetrol Peru.
This operator initially had very limited resources, the same ones increased significantly after the
first well drilled, successfully, and that meant a safe fluid system.
Supervision, improvement and a better Solids Control Equipment performance was a permanent
responsibility, specially advising on Shale Shakers performance.
Computer skills were all about Office programs.
