Mechanical Designer with over thirty years of experience in Electro-
Mechanical packaging design and documentation. Proficient in PRO-E CAD
System (approx. 20,000 hours), Wildfire 2003 or Wildfire 2004. Excellent
PRO-E modeling, complex assemblies, piping, sheet metal and drafting
practices. Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal
skills. Self starter and can handle multiple tasks with minimal
supervision.
EXPERIENCE:
Z Engineering Inc. June 2011
- May 2012
Mechanical Designer
Design and Documentation support (utilizing Pro-E) for the following
company:
COM DEV USA: Responsible for creating detail parts (Microwave Filters,
Waveguides and other
various components and assemblies) for use in satellite structures.
Acro Service Corporation Oct.
2009 - Dec. 2010
Northrop Grumman Space Systems Division
Mechanical Designer supporting test equipment on the SBIRS program.
Modeled and
assembled all parts required for a 3-Bay rack assembly (two 19 inch racks
and one 21 inch
rack, all input / output modules and interfaces, controllers, gauges,
switches, connectors,
power supplies etc.). Wired assembly (using Pro-E piping) and created
Assembly drawing
and Wiring diagram.
Z Engineering Inc. Mar. 2000 - Sept.
2009
Mechanical Designer
Design and Documentation support (utilizing Pro-E) for the following
companies and programs:
Panasonic Avionics Corporation - IFE (In-Flight entertainment) systems:
Responsible for creating detail parts for an entertainment rack assembly
and wiring the complete rack assembly.
Wiring was done using Pro-E piping. Created rack assembly drawing and
detail drawings.
Raytheon, Space and Airborne Systems:
ATFLIR program: Responsible for creating four chassis assemblies (Techmar
Chassis) and associated parts (connectors, relays, switches, terminal
blocks, fans etc.) for use in test rack
assembly. Created detail chassis drawings to reflect mounting
requirements, and four chassis
assembly drawings.
STSS program: Responsible for creating parts, assemblies and documentation
to support Cryo-Radiator design. Revised top assembly model and drawing to
reflect new design.
VIRAGO 3 program: Responsible for redesign of circuit card assemblies,
chassis assemblies,
complete rack assemblies, and the documentation to support these
assemblies.
Boeing, Integrated Defense Systems - Satellite and Reflector groups:
Responsible for design and documentation of the support structure (ribs) of
given satellite. First time use of skeletons in Pro-E to aid in the
assembly.
Swift Engineering - Swift Aero Wind Tunnel update.
Optivus - Proton Therapy (AutoCAD 2006)
Northrop Grumman Corporation Dec. 1979 - Dec. 1999
Electronics and Systems Integration Division
Draftsman 1979 - 1985
Designer 1985 - 1993
Engineer II 1993 - 1999
Created conceptual, detailed and formal engineering documentation necessary
to procure, fabricate and assemble Northrop division's hardware products
(Peacekeeper and B2 programs). Performed tolerance and analytical
studies/tasks to determine form, fit and function requirements. Generated
Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) documenting a proposed design change,
and represented through Change Control Board (CCB) for approval. Provided
liaison/design support to the factory through tooling documentation to
support manufacturing engineering. Achieved excellent documentation
ratings thru Document Check, Quality Assurance, Configuration and Release
Organizations. ANSI Y14.5M-1982 / ASME Y14.5M-1994.
