DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Follow the laboratory's procedure for specimen handling and

processing, test analyst, reporting and maintaining accurate

records of patient. Area of responsibilities include:

. Documents all corrective actions taken when test system deviate

from the laboratory's established performance specification.

. Perform vein and capillary puncture procedure using a variety of

methods and equipment including vactainer system, micro

collection devices, Winged infusion set and Syringe needles.

. Apply tourniquet to arm, locate vein, swab area with

disinfectant, and insert needle into vein to draw blood into

collection tube.

. Label and stores blood container for processing.

. Perform clerical duties in regards to reporting of result and

distribution in a timely manner. Performs clerical duties such

as: filing, answering phone calls, etc.

. Perform finger stick and pediatric venipuncture in the CCU and

NICU department.

. Rapidly available to rotate through different locations.

. Maintain adequate supply of laboratory supplies and materials.

Keep stock drawing station area clean and safe.

. Verifies or records identity of patient or donor. Input

patient's information into the computer.

. Accurately label specimen with the patient's name, date the

blood was with drawn and time.

. Send lab result to doctor's office and sending result by mail to

the doctor's office.

. Process specimen and prepare Specimen for courier pick-up

. Perform computer duties including, accurately inputting

patient's information, pending log and cancellation on specimen.

. Drawing blood from in and out patient or donor.

dealing with patient and other member of the health care team,
