Dissertation Title: Induction of Mutation in Aspergillus Niger by UV

Irradiation and molecular characterization of the Mutant

Location: Genohelix Bio labs Jain university Bangalore

Summary: Sample was isolated, serially diluted and inoculated in to potato

dextrose medium and incubated. A.niger strains were exposed to UV light for

2hr, 4hr, 6hr,8hr and named as A1,A2,A3,A4 respectively and the wild as A,

then screened for citric acid production in respective liquid culture and

analyzed the citric acid production titrimetrically.The A2 strain exposed

to UV light for 4hr selected as most potential. The genomic DNA of A2

strain was isolated by Acetone dried method and amplified by RAPD

technique.
