Description - A dual-sided (clinical and laboratory) program investigating

Responsibilities - Rejuvenated several lines of decades old DNA for use in
experiments to that end. In addition, we developed a process for whole
blood transformation that eliminates the need for an expensive cell density
gradient centrifugation medium (such as Ficoll-Paque). Navigated the
National Center for Biotechnological Information (NCBI) database for BLAT,
BLAST, and other efunctions in biotechnology.
Accomplishment(s) - Gained proficiency with the Epstein-Barr Virus (HHV-4),
using it for DNA proliferation. Gained experience with DNA extraction and
preservation. Enhanced computer literacy skills regarding network usage,
troubleshooting, and antiviral and anti-malware applications.
