SUMMARY

With 42 years in construction management, estimating, scheduling (MS Project), sub contract negotiations, organizing & leading pre-construction meetings, preparing all construction document forms, field supervision from site work through move-in and, job site safety enforcement, I have completed many high quality projects ahead of schedule and under budget, including custom homes, condominiums, commercial, industrial and tenant improvement projects, remodeling and, several government projects under the supervision of the Army Corp of Engineers.

EMPLOYMENT

McDonald Constructors, LLC, Bradenton, Florida May 2006 – November, 2013 Constructed hurricane rated home; constructed two restaurants; renovated a major water damaged condominium with mold remediation; installed hurricane rated window replacements for several condos.

McDonald Constructors, Honolulu, Hawaii June 2002 – April 2006

Estimated, sold & built six custom homes ($400,000 - $1,400,000) and converted a 38,000 sq. ft. supermarket into a church / school complex ($4,500,000). Supervised my company framing crew.

Maryl Pacific & JHL Constructors, Maui & Honolulu, Hawaii April 2000 – May 2002

Maryl Pacific, one of Hawaii’s largest contractors, hired me as their Superintendent based on my experience supervising extensive site work, including underground drainage systems and, construction of structural steel with concrete floor buildings. I prepared the schedule and subcontracts, ordered all materials, performed the field supervision, including company union carpentry and masonry crews of up to 20 men, approved all draw requests and, prepared monthly progress reports for the construction of the $6,000,000, 7500 Sq. Ft. ocean-front home on Maui. The home was constructed of structural steel, metal framing, with a full basement and two structurally supported concrete floors. The site work included an underground drainage system and retention basin, retaining walls, more than $600,000 in pool and water features and, many interior finish specialty items. Upon completion, based on the quality of the work, I was sent to supervise the company’s quality control program, to complete a 120 unit condo ($1,400,000/unit) project on Maui. I then moved back to Oahu and, for JHL Constructors, I supervised a 20,000 SF office restoration project for Tripler Army Base, which included lead and asbestos remediation work and, enforced all workers to comply with the Army Corp of Engineers safety requirements.

McDonald Constructors, Honolulu, Hawaii December 1992 – March 2000

Managed major renovations on ten homes damaged by hurricane Iniki on Kauai, supervising my 12 man framing crew. I then obtained my Hawaii certified General Contractor’s license and, estimated, sold & built three large custom steel frame homes and seven custom wood frame homes on Oahu, including purchasing, bookkeeping, field supervision, cash flow coordination and, bonding as required.

Contemporary Construction, Sarasota, Florida 1984 - 1991

As contractor, I built two condominium projects, two fitness centers, three restaurants and various retail tenant build-outs. And, as a Lindal Cedar Home Dealer for three years, I constructed a commercial model home center and supervised all the marketing, sales and construction activities, sold, framed & supervised the total construction of 13 custom homes from $200,000 to $1,200,000.

National Development Company, Bradenton, Florida 1983 - 1984

As Project Manager, I completed three 10 - unit and two 12 - unit condominium buildings in separate on-going projects, directing all bidding, purchasing, and field supervision; supervised the site-work and underground street utility installations for two separate condominium and duplex projects and, prepared the estimate and supervised construction of the condominium project Phase I buildings and, by re-bidding the duplex project, completed the project 15% under the original budget.

Dooley Mack Constructors, Sarasota, Florida 1981 - 1983

As Project Superintendent, I supervised the construction of two condominium projects, two office buildings, a strip shopping center, two industrial metal buildings, a 120 bed hospital and, completed a 32-room elementary school three months ahead of schedule.

RCM Enterprises, Inc., Tampa, Florida; Albuquerque, New Mexico 1973 - 1980

As a certified Florida General Contractor for my company, I estimated, sold and built 45 custom homes, a 21-unit factory / office conversion, a hospital addition and many tenant improvement build-outs and, supervised my company’s 5 man framing crew.

U.S. Home Corp., Carroll Wood Village, Tampa, Florida 1971 - 1973

As Project Manager, I prepared estimates, directed the marketing and sales departments, let contracts, purchased all materials and, supervised the field superintendent’s activities on two projects; a 120 unit planned residential community completed in 6 months and, an on-going scattered lot custom home community, completing 84 custom homes in a little over 12 months. Obtained my certified Florida General Contractor's license in 1972.
