Rustic Pathways – Sacred Valley, Peru Summer 2010

• Worked 8-10 hours each day building guinea pig huts to support the rural community

• Interacted with local families, participating in recreational activities, tutoring, and medical

care

Tall Ships – Washington State Coastline September/October 2011

• Worked as Bosun’s Mate on The Hawaiian Chieftain, performing general ship

maintenance including rust repair, deck refinishing, brass cleaning and polishing, and hull painting

• Conducted ship tours when in port

American Conservation Experience – Santa Cruz, CA October – December 2011

• Participated in a variety of conservation projects which included landscaping,

construction, and bridge building

Casa Guatemala Orphanage – Republic of Guatemala April – June 2012

• Directed athletic activities for children and assisted community members with projects to

improve their quality of daily living

AWARDS and ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• Received a letter of commendation from Rustic Pathways for participation in the Peru

Volunteer Program

• Won a 2011 Gold Key Award in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Competition for

photographs taken in Peru
