the last 10 years managing the design & construction of challenging projects on the strip

in Las Vegas. Most of my projects over the last 8 years have been with MGM Resorts

International. Over this time they have requested me to continue to manage specific

complex projects, including overseeing multiple project managers and working as a

consultant for them on the City Center Project. I would like to use this letter to describe

the management philosophies that I believe have led to my success and can be applied to

my future positions to bring the same success.

I believe in dealing with all members of a project team in a courteous and respectful

manner. I’ve never seen an example of a condescending or negative tone produce positive

results. A project is not successful unless everyone is successful, including architects,

designers, engineers, contractors & owners. Good communication cannot be emphasized

enough. I believe in good, understandable procedures that have flexibility so that they can

be adapted to unique situations. I am a strong proponent of schedules and constantly

updating progress.

I feel one of my biggest strengths is problem solving. My philosophy on problem solving

is that there is no need to be smarter than everyone to be a good problem solver. The key

is being able to tap into the knowledge and experience of the members of a project team

and know how to analyze and use the information everyone contributes. Lastly, I like to

have fun and enjoy my work.
