Maguire Associates is a private research-based consulting firm specializing in higher education. Joined
the company in 2005 and since have been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility from Research
Assistant to Research Associate and eventually to the position of Vice President, over the past nine years.
Research Assistant job duties involved data acquisition, performing coding, cleaning, and merging
functions to prepare the data for building predictive models as well as to build models and distribute
institutional funds for colleges and universities. As a Research Associate, managed projects and client
relationships in addition to building strategic financial aid models. Currently as Vice President, engaged
in various functions involving project sales, consulting, building and managing client relationships,
management and implementation of strategic financial aid leveraging predictive modeling projects for
important and selective client institutions, quality control, project assignments, supporting enrollment
management opportunity analysis engagements, and managing recruitment efforts for the predictive
modeling team.
Responsibilities:
Development, Implementation, and Management of Strategic Financial Aid Leveraging Predictive
Modeling Projects –
Manage and build complex strategic financial aid leveraging predictive models to identify

key drivers for enrollment, measure price sensitivity, and develop trade-off scenarios for
client institutions illustrating the effects of institutional grant aid allocations and different
pricing options on enrollment goals, diversity, net revenue, and institutional aid budgets.
Monitored and executed distribution of institutional funds and scholarship awards for

clients.
Perform advanced projection analysis forecasting the effects of implemented strategies to
o
track the key performance indicators for the client related to enrollment, academic,
composition, and budgetary goals.
Prepare presentations, analytical memorandum, and reports for clients.

Consulting and Project Sales–
Provide enrollment management consulting by analyzing client institution’s performance

from historical data and reports.
Deliver on-site presentations reporting outcomes and explaining key ta keaways to senior

strategies, resource allocations and expenditures, staffing levels, and operations in the areas
of admissions and financial aid. This process involves an on-site visit to meet the senior
leadership team, admissions and financial aid staff at the institution as well as conduct focus
groups with faculty and current student s to carefully examine the institution’s operations,
processes, and systems.
R & D Initiatives –
Played a key role in the conceptualization, development, and implementation of the model to

predict first-year student retention as an extension to the financial aid leveraging model.
Administrative & Supervisory duties –
Responsible for quality assurance of predictive modeling projects, by regular rev iew of the

work of the analysts, to ensure proper implementation of the models for seamless internal
operations and client satisfaction.
Mentor and serve as a resource to Junior Analysts/Research Assistants and

Analysts/Research Associates.
Oversee staff assignments of predictive modeling projects.

Lead a team of ten analysts and consultants in a weekly discussion on an array of

econometric, statistical, and strategic issues on current projects and explore new and
alternative techniques to address challenging and thought provoking model related issues
posed by clients.
Manage hiring efforts for the modeling team from evaluating applications for prospective

new hires, conducting preliminary interviews, coordinating on-site interviews, gathering
feedbacks from candidate references and following up with the selected candidate with an
offer.

Annually contribute close to $1 million towards the gross revenue of the company by managing, on
average, 8-10 predictive modeling contracts.
