ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
Research Assistant (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
1/2010-9/2/2010
. Investigated alcohol aerobic oxidation, searching for the best catalyst
with low loading, wide substrate scope, and high selectivity. Carried
out experiments synthesizing catalysts as well as screening various
catalyst systems for functional alcohols using air or pure O2.
Research Assistant (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
9/2007-12/2009
. Computer aided rational design of cathode catalysts for fuel cells with
density functional theory. Comprehensive research on oxygen reduction
reaction on metallic surface catalysts. Collaborated with experimental
groups, discovered a series of novel transition metal alloy catalysts
for fuel cells, predicted their energy efficiency and reaction
activity, verified the reaction mechanisms behind the experimental
observations, pointed out the critical properties of potential
catalysts.
