Technical Expertise Summary

> Capital Projects: Experience tracking cost and project timelines in

MS Project, Excel and Word. Managing contractors and working as a

liaison with outside engineering firms and machine building

companies. Oversee and help in the installation of the equipment.

Functioning as the lead engineer during installation and start up.

> Management: Managed large maintenance departments with over 200

employees, writing work schedules and justifying head count to

> Equipment Design and Maintenance: Proficient at production

> Electrical Control Systems Design: Designed advanced systems with

Implemented Ethernet systems that allowed management to view plant

floor operations and HMIs to communicate to PLCs and motion

controllers. Skills include drawing schematics in AutoCAD and

AutoCAD Electrical, producing the bill of materials list, building

panels, designing the memory map for the processor and developing

the machine code in GE Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Omron, and older

Siemens PLC formats. Experience with 4160V, 600V and 480V 3( systems

as well as industrial networks like the GE Fanuc Genius, Device Net,

ControlNet, Modbus and Profibus. Solid background in DC

rectification, Power Conversion, electroplating, batch processes

control, machine automation, potable and waste water treatment and

web handling and conversion systems.

> Computers and Software: Proficient with Auto Cad and operator

interfaces such as TCP, RSView, Cimplicity, and Wonderware. Some

experience with Visual Basic. Working knowledge of SCADA systems

software and design. Good working knowledge of Microsoft software

packages, primarily in manufacturing. Experience working with plant

level IT communications.

> Training and Instructing: Developed material for and conducted a

number of technical training classes for production personnel on the

use of equipment and maintenance personnel on technical aspects of

equipment. Instructed personnel on basic computer skills, computer

networking, basic electric, electrical troubleshooting and testing

control circuits. Taught basic and advanced Logic Controllers and

Operator Interfaces along with mechanics, fluid power and terminal

dynamics for the North Carolina Community College System.

> Field Service: Experienced in field service. Have traveling across

the US and Asia installing production, automation and vision

equipment. Overseeing and performing the instillation of machinery

and control systems. Debugging program code, modifying the equipment

to mate with existing equipment. Perform initial start up and train

site personal on new system. Write all documentation and engineering

reviews.

Work History

2012 - 2013: Gulistan Carpets Inc, Aberdeen North Carolina

Electrical Engineering Manager (Aberdeen and Wagram Plants) Responsible

for the day to day management of all electrical controls systems at the

Aberdeen Tufting and Finishing plant and the Wagram Die plant. Manage the

electrical staff and contractors at both locations. Duties included the

management of all incoming switch gear, machine panels, PLC'S, VFD's,

Motion Control, HMI's Industrial PC's and third party control systems.

Utilize the above mentioned skills to implement production and cost

improvements. Reporting to VP of manufacturing. On December 27 Gulistan

Carpet announced that it was filling Chapter 11 in US bankruptcy court thus

shutting down all facilities and resulting in the layoff all employees. I

worked till late February preparing the plant for shutdown. Since I left

Gulistan I have been working engineering temp contracts throughout the US.

2011 - 2012: Technimark LLC Asheboro, North Carolina

Automation Engineer - Provided production level engineering support to

floor technician in an injection molding facility. Indentify common and

complex problems with the automation, write solutions for management.

Adjust PLC code as needed on equipment. Work with the development the

engineering department performing time studies on new equipment assuring

there were no major issues prior to release to production. Work with a

number of optical vision systems adjusting parameters as needed.

2008 - 2010: Celgard LLC Charlotte, North Carolina

Electrical Engineering Technician (I@E) - Was primarily responsible for

the optical inspection equipment within the Process Engineer Group

throughout the plant. Installed new high speed flaw detection camera

systems in Charlotte, NC, Chungju Korea and Shanghai China. Was

responsible in part for the training of the production personal on the

use of the vision systems. Interfaced the systems with the plant network

and the machine PLC's. I also worked as and I&E Technician (Instruments

and Electronics) functioning manly on production machine troubleshooting.

Work with outside contractors on capitol projects.

2007 - 2008: DMP Corporation Inc., Rock Hill, South Carolina

Automation Controls Specialist - Electrical systems designer for OEM

manufacture of industrial waste water treatment systems. Designs include

motor control panels, operator stations and all related sub equipment.

Responsible for electrical specifications, electrical schematics, PLC

program code, HMI code and related interface, and bill of materials.

2005 - 2007: Sandhills Industrial Automation, Southern Pines, North

Carolina

Owner - Owned a small contract automation engineering firm that performed

automation services on new and existing equipment. The company included a

panel shop, small design center and field service support offering

control system design, machine system integration, drafting services,

instrumentation calibrations, AC/DC drive service, HMI design and PLC

programming.

1995 - 2005: ERICO Inc., Aberdeen, North Carolina

Automation Controls Engineer/Technician - Responsible for all process

control systems and equipment including over 400 DC rectifiers, AC and DC

drives, PLCs & motion control systems, operator interfaces and plant

production networks. Designed and implemented new capital projects and

was instrumental in several cost saving programs including plant

maintenance training, copper reduction, and a pre-punching process on the

mechanical strut lines.

1993 - 1994: Duke University, Durham, North Carolina

General Manager University Housekeeping - Responsible for the day to day

operations of the University housekeeping department, including managers,

supervisors and over two hundred unionized employees. Developed a

computerized housekeeping management program that produced schedules,

managed costs and provided quality assurance reports based on the

production times of existing staff resulting in a 25% cost reduction.
