JOB PROFILE :-

Involved in Design and Development of various RADAR projects such as 3D TCR (Tactical Control Radar), 10m Mobile

Mast (Rohini), WLR (Weapon Locating Radar). All the projects involve the design and documentations of El. Drive System,

Az. Drive System, Frames, Treeguard, Cable Routing etc.

DESCRIPTION:-

The ROHINI Radar is designed to play the role of medium range surveillance radar mounted on a mobile platform. The

antenna is rotated electrically in azimuth to provide required coverage of 360 . El. Drive System is designed to lift the Rohini

Antenna system from 0 deg. Position to an angle 78 . The antenna is connected to a lifting/folding mechanism which consists

of ball screw jacks, bevel gear box, worm gear box, universal joint, coupling and LM guide. The drive mechanism

essentially consists of 2HP motor, gearboxes, ball screws, LM rails etc. The pair of ball screws driven by a high accuracy

and low backlash geared drive, actuates the slider. This mechanism also used in TCR, WLR Radar.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:-

Development & Engineering of Elevation Mechanism and selection of various components including

Motor, Gear mechanism Slewing Ring Bearing etc for Rohini Radar Antenna system.

Development of mounting & lifting arrangement, Elevation Housing assembly for TCR Antenna.

Integration of various assemblies for TCR Antenna. Good interpersonal relation and effective contribution

to the team have resulted in achieving the desired results.

• Using Pro-Engineer & AutoCAD design softwares for design & development of Rotary frame, El. Drive system, Az.

Drive system, Treeguard.

• Project Management: Team member of WLR, 10M Mast Rohini and TCR Ant. Contribution related to projects

schedules are significant. Significant contribution in designing the Elevation mechanism for WLR, TCR and 10M mast.

• Adherence to BEL Standards while designing the various modules, so as to avoid high cost and provide the best

quality product.
