MCM modules using Targetlink.

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor –Ann Arbor, MI May-July 2013

• Assisted the team that was working to participate in DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects

Agency) challenge 2013.

• Created communication modules and implemented C++ code that implements BCJR algorithm was a

part of the receiver module.

• Simulated the Performance of different algorithms to optimize the performance of convolutional and

turbo code decoders.

Polytechnic Institute of New York University--Brooklyn, NY May-July 2011

• Worked at Information Systems and Internet Security (ISIS) Lab with a professor in simulating

circuits in VLSI using PSPICE and LTSPICE

• Operated on Memristor based threshold logic circuit verification and prepared simulation reports.

• Worked on FPGA boards for testing circuit performance and was able to spot out some improvements.

• Developed SPICE implementation for ASIC logic circuits.

Dooradarshan Station, (TV Broadcasting Station)--India April 2011

• Observed the working of a Duplex antenna sending both video and audio signals from a High power

transmitter.

• Detected and simulated the working of compressors and combiners used in TV broadcasting stations in a

team of 5 students.

• Prepared a report on the different frequencies and standards used in broadcasting.

PROJECTS

Adaptive Cruise Control Embedded System Design: Sept-Dec 2013

• Worked on an Automatic Steering control system using PID controller to make cars drive safely by itself

using the input from the Haptic wheel and simulating it.

• Performed simulations on different modes such as manual, automatic steering and Cruise control modes

• Used CAN bus to push alerts and to communicate with other cars in the lab.

Vitals Monitoring system: (Harris corporation): Sept-Dec 2013

• Worked on a device that constantly monitors the ECG waveform of a patient and sends it to the remote

location where a doctor or a nurse can read it through a pager or a PC.

• This device makes use of DSP algorithms and embedded systems applications using MSP430 and

wireless transmission devices like Blue Smirf.

GNU Radio (Software defined Radio): University of Michigan May – July 2013

• GNU Radio BCJR decoder module creation.

• Worked on implementation of decoding algorithms for a software defined base of GNU radio

• Implemented BCJR algorithm for decoding convolutional codes

• Extended BCJR algorithm to turbo codes and implementing them in C++ to fit into software defined

modules of GNU radio.

OFDM (IEEE 802.11a standards) and Channel Estimation: University of Michigan Jan-April 2013

• Tx: Used BPSK and QPSK modulations, cyclic prefix coding and IFFT at the transmitter

• Employed (40, 16) Product codes as an error control optimization scheme.

• Channel: Prepared a channel model with Doppler Effect for moving vehicles and office environments in

the presence of Rayleigh Fading.

• Pilot Insertion: Compared Comb, Scattered and block type pilot arrangements for channel estimation.

• Rx: Used BPSK and QPSK demodulation and detection using FFT, cyclic prefix removal and filtering

the noise components to decode the messages.
