To Whom It May Concern:
I was very excited to find that a job was available in Medical Technology at your hospital. I will be
completing my year of clinical rotations this June and look forward to beginning my career as a medical
technologist. I feel that medical laboratory science is an essential element in patient care and believe I can
impact lives through this field.
While completing the laboratory science program at Cox Health Care Systems, I have been fortunate to
experience many areas of lab work. I hope to be able to transfer all the knowledge I have gained into
being a great technologist. During this year, I have also been employed at the hospital in the lab. This has
been very advantageous as it has allowed me additional time and experience in my future career.
I have received extensive training in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology which has
provided me with the tools to be a competent and knowledgeable Technologist. One of my favorite
rotations was in Microbiology where I was able to help identify microorganisms and find their
susceptibility to antibiotics, helping aid physicians in the treatment infections. I loved being able to see
something new every day and be given the opportunity to solve a puzzle each day by using biochemical
tests. I felt this excitement in each new department I worked in, because I knew that my work was able to
help save lives and that each test performed had its own importance.
I know that if given the opportunity I would be a valuable asset to your team in the laboratory. I am very
excited about the career I have chosen and want to do more to one day become a specialist in one of the
departments. I hope that I get the opportunity to speak with you soon, and show you how excited I am for
my future in Medical Technology.
Thank you for your consideration.
