PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

company offers, and assisted in launching digital versions of all our texts. Over ten years

of experience in massaging clumsy prose into chapters that sing.

LEGAL REPORTER AND EDITOR

September 2011, http://www.bloomberg.com)

Reported and developed articles about the Internet and the law for businesses, the legal

professions, and academia. Solicited and edited articles from outside authors. Oversaw

growth in both print and electronic circulation. Increased cooperation and content-

sharing with other BNA publications. Daily beat ranged from covering Congressional

environmentalists, and political officials during the height of a real estate boom.

Investigated and covered both “spot” news items as well as lengthy features on company

management, water issues, media relations, and the stock market. Assisted in launching a

column on builders and charitable activities. Delved “into the weeds” to examine door

and window technology and their relationship to air conditioning and heating expenses,

and the cumulative toll on the environment. Flew for a bird’s-eye view of land issues,

permitting processes, and political fortunes of the home building industry.

EDITOR and REPORTER

E-Filing Report, 2000–2003

Reported and edited articles on court technologies and information management.

Gathered data, content and interviews in the new field of electronic filing. Educated

lawyers and court officials on the topic. Interviewed judges, clerks, litigants and their

clients in family law courts to the U.S. Supreme Court to determine how, or whether,

electronic filing of documents would assist them.

TECHNOLOGY REPORTER

Chronicle of Higher Education, 1999–2000

Covered technology issues as the Internet began to emerge in institutions of higher

education. Filed articles on copyright infringement, alumni relations, software problems,

laptops in the classroom, and the impact of computers on the quality of student writing.

SENIOR TECHNOLOGY COLUMNIST

Pro2Net.com, 2000

Filed daily pieces and a weekly column on legal technology for a start-up Web company

aimed at legal, medical, real estate, insurance and accounting professionals.

negotiations and referrals among credentialed, white-collar workers.

TECHNOLOGY REPORTER

The National Law Journal, 1996–1999 (http://www.nlj.com)

Founder of a weekly column, Lawyers and Technology, which analyzed both the impact

of technology on the law, as well as the effect of technology on the legal profession, in
