Senior Systems Engineer – Full Time
Install and setup networks for small/medium sized businesses. Migrated several
installations to HyperV, upgraded domains and Exchange data to current levels.
Hardware/software and network support. Run and terminate fiber optic cable (ST, SC) &
copper cable of all types cat5e using rj11 and rj45, coax using BNC & Ftype. Setup and

Senior Systems Engineer – Full Time
Provide Systems support to a variety of small to medium sized businesses both with long
term contract and short term assignments. Supporting Infrastructures containing a variety
of Windows 2003/2008 SBS and Enterprise servers running a variety of applications.
Upgrade existing domains (SBS and Normal ) from Windows NT, 2000, 2003 and 2008.
Install and Upgrade existing Exchange and SQL servers for various clients. Responsible
for disaster recovery of all applications and servers on over 40 clients networks.
Recommend VPN and remote solutions for clients and secure using mostly SonicWall or
Symantec Appliances. Upgrade existing infrastructures including file and print servers
for the enterprise maintaining security and causing little down time for the end user. I am
an expert at network migrations and very rarely have issues that cause stoppage.
Maintain and upgrade any and all network services such DHCP, DNS, WINS and Active
Directory. Create Visual Basic scripts to make network migration easier for many users
including mapping new printers and setting defaults. Maintain clients DNS topology and
manage their existing DNS records (MX, A, CNAME, SPF, PTR etc…) Create and
maintain Access and SQL databases for clients according to their specifications. Also
utilize tools such as Shadowprotect and Norton Ghost for imaging clients and servers.
Maintained and designed several large databases in Access 2000 through 2007 and
developed utilities and small programs in VBA and normal VB.

Server, Clustering, IBM MQ Series, IBM Director, Lotus Domino, Inoculate IT,

Responsibilities include maintaining our Windows NT 4.0 network which consists of 1

Server, Veritas Backup Exec and Modem Sharing for 40 users. The BDC includes NT4
Server, Veritas Backup Exec and Power Chute for Smart Ups. The backbone is 10 MB
Ethernet connected to our ISP with a T1 line through a router. Install NT networks using
DHCP, 100MB Ethernet and SQL Server at client sites for use with our digital imaging
systems. Design and maintain 3 Company websites using Front Page 2000, custom Java
Scripts, and general CGI routines Using custom graphics designed in Photoshop 5.2,
Corel 2000, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat to make PDF files, and Office 2000 Premium.
Also setup HP Jet Direct ports including over 10 high volume and personal printers, Snap
Drives for file serving and RAS for remote user dial in. Maintain both internal tech
support calls and external calls from over 400 customers. Installed and configured Black
Ice Defender to keep intruders out and initiated a password policy to minimize risk to
malicious attacks. Use utilities such as DHCP manager, User Manager for Domains,
Server Manager, Ping, Tracert, MS Net monitor, Msconfig, Winipcfg & ipconfig, and
telnet to troubleshoot and repair network issues.

Troubleshooting network/software/hardware problems on our LAN. Preparing new

organizing wiring closets, fixing RAS problems. Updating Jobtrak inventory, help desk
software and customer relations. Also created small VB/C utilities to accommodate end-
users. Support included HP, Compaq, IBM, Sony, Dell, Gateway, Clone and proprietary
lab equipment. Also was the primary laptop repair technician and offered
recommendations on new equipment. Installed and configured Oracle, SQL Server, and
Microsoft ODBC drivers and applications. Responsible for R&D new software and
hardware. Used numerous O/S utilities such as FTP, Drive imaging/Copying, Seagate

against the SMS database, virus software and handled all aspects of Y2K awareness. Also

Responsible for updating Code in SAS, RAMIS and SQL also designed 10% of new HR
software in Peoplesoft and Crystal Reports for system on a DB2 platform. Also

Volunteer at Sonshine Ministries (Homeless Shelter for destitute people). Setup Websites
and currently host them on one of my web servers. Provide remote office thru a terminal
server that is located at my CO location. Provide free technical support and local area
networking support for all three of these ministries.
