Professional Goals:
I have started my career as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Baker Hughes Inc. I graduated
from Texas A&M University in May 2011 with a BS in Ocean Engineering. I am looking to
continue my professional career as a design engineer in a place where I can put my educational
and professional training to good use, creating profit for your company. I enjoy problem solving
and look forward to being in a role where I can further develop my creative design capabilities.
Work Experience:
Design Engineer II (Baker Hughes Inc.)- (2011-Current)
o I am a R&D Design Engineer and work in the Completions and Production side of the Oil &
Gas industry. Specifically, I worked on designing new permanent and retrievable packers
and other completion tools for cased hole completions.
o I have experience in every part of the design process from beginning to end, including:
Conceptual design, design calculations, high experience with part/tool modeling
and drawings, getting vendor quotes and part ordering, interacting with
manufacturing and machine shop, technical design reviews, hands on assembly of the
actual tools in the test lab, High Pressure/ High Temperature testing, technical report
writing, and giving technical presentations.
o I have taken training classes on many other design engineering subjects including:
Design Skills Basics, Manufacturing Training, Materials Basics, Design Tolerance
Studies, Fundamentals of Well Hydraulics, Intermediate Metals-Alloy Steels, Crane
and Hoist training, Solidworks I-III, and Finite Element Analysis training.
Customer Service – Café Eccell (2008 – 2011) – Strengthened communication and people skills,
time management, and developed a strong work ethic.
Technical Skills and Experience:
Senior Projects – I worked with a team to design an offshore semi-submersible production
platform. I analyzed everything from the mooring and riser analysis, structural design,
production equipment layout, relief well plan, subsea system, dynamic loading, and model
drawings with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Computer Skills: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SAP, Envision, TeamCenter, SmarTeam, Orcaflex,
GHS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, COSMOS Works, Microstation.
Certifications- I am an official E.I.T. and have passed the F.E. exam. I have been working
towards obtaining my P.E. license (summer 2015).
Extracurricular Activities:
Texas A&M Corps of Cadets (2006-2007) – Built leadership capability and learned excellent
management and organization skills
Breakaway Ministries Staff (2009-2011) – Set up the stage and sound system every week.
Living Water Drill Trip (July 2012) – Traveled to Nicaragua with Living Water International to
drill a water well and teach water hygiene for a remote community.
