TVS Motors – Bangalore, India Dec 2006 – Feb 2007
Position: Contract Project Engineer
Project – GUI development for Automated Endurance testing of Cam Chains in LV 8.0
Designed, developed and integrated a HMI software application using LabVIEW 8.0 and NI PID
Control Toolkit into a test rig for endurance testing of two-wheeler cam chains.
The turnkey solution involved monitoring, acquiring and measuring torque, speed, voltage,
current and oil temperature sensor data via a NI PCI DAQ card over varying load cycles along
with automated test report generation and graphical summaries of test results.
The HMI application was deployed onto a touch panel PC. Discrete analog and digital signals
were generated via a multi function DAQ card and interfaced to a Siemen’s PLC drive for remote
controlling of the oil pump, a Siemens 3-phase AC motor & heater.
Configuration of the Siemen’s PLC was done using Siemen’s DriveMon application.
