centers. These new locations are the new production and disaster recovery
sites. The production data center is located in St. Louis and the D/R
Site is located in an IBM facility in Lexington. These two data centers
are connected with OC48 links which are used to keep the tape and disk
systems mirrored for DR purposes. The DS8800 disk systems are mirrored to
Lexington using GDPS software and Global Mirror (GDPS/GM). The TS7720
VTS's are kept in sync using tape grid technology. The production
cutover to St. Louis was Memorial Day weekend this year. The Lexington DR
site was completed in August with the first official disaster recovery
test at the end of August.
. Currently working on a Sysplex split to be delivered in March 2014.
This split will remove the development LPARs from the production Sysplex
to their own Plex Environement.
. Also working on a project to replace all Computer Associates (CA)
software with IBM software. The two largest are ACF/2 to RACF conversion
and Jobtrac to be replaced with TWS.
. Coordinated the conversion of customer ESCON channel extended printers to
an IP based solution.
. Routinely prepare milestone status and communicated to IBM project
management team, client executive management and client staff.
. Created and maintain the data center relocation project plan.
. Maintain labor budget dollars to ensure that the project stays within
budget.
. Environment: IBM z/OS 1.13, z196 processors, TS7720 Virtual Tape
Systems (VTS), DS8800 disk subsystems, GDPS software, Unix and Intel
Servers, OC48 circuits for disk and tape backup, CA1, CA11, Jobtrac,
IMS, DB2, MQ, CICS, Connect:Direct, TCP/IP, SNA, NetView automation.
Project Manager - Kaiser Permanente (01/12 - 05/12)
. The scope of this project was to create disaster recovery solutions for
400 of Kaiser's midrange applications. Main role was to perform data
collection using several sources provided by the customer and validate it
with meetings with the applications owners and technical support teams.
. After this data collection process, then turn the final documents over to
the D/R solution team who will prepare the Disaster Recovery Solution.

attached hardware for IBM mainframe printers in Albany location. Located
and redeployed used equipment enabling significant cost savings for IBM.
. Identified potential risk elements and proposed mitigation strategies for
integral parts of this project.
. Directed midrange team efforts to identify servers connected via TCP/IP
or SNA to ensure network integrity and migration success.
. Routinely prepared milestone status and communicated to IBM project
management team, client executive management and client staff.
. Created and maintained the data center relocation migration project plan.
Regularly interacted with the project PMO.
. Initiated and managed support escalation with Verizon, AT&T and client
network staff during highly-visible, problematic installation of OC12 used
