National aviation services company with nearly 5,000 employees that provides major airlines and airports with ground
handling, aircraft, and terminal services. Concurrent responsibility with FirstLine Transportation.
Vice President, Performance Assurance & Regulatory Compliance
Provided Human Resources leadership and program management throughout SMS Holdings’ acquisition and integration of ITS
Aviation and the subsequent restructuring into two separate companies (FirstLine Transportation Security and PrimeFlight
Aviation Services). During the transition, planned and directed all facets of HR for both entities, including oversight of HR
budgets. To advance FirstLine presents in the federal marketplace, SMS adjusted and segregated roles and responsibilities after
the merger was complete in 2004.

• Merger Integration – Key member of a high priority business alignment team challenged with creating a new and fully
integrated organization, launching a new operational infrastructure, and ensuring that HR functions were streamlined and
efficient during the integration of FirstLine and SMS.
• Compensation & Benefits – Steered company-wide compensation and benefit programs at the corporate and site levels in
compliance with SCA, FLSA, and ATSA. Ensure development of job classification/descriptions through job analysis and salary
surveys to monitor and ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
• Talent Acquisition – Led efforts to source/select, develop, implement, and manage recruitment and selection strategies and
systems for all facets of the business to ensure quality of hires, timeliness of hires to meet workforce planning, retention, and
succession planning efforts using Applicant Tracking Software (ATS) and other HRIS platforms. Reduced time to hire by 50%
and cost per hire by $3,000.
• Workers Compensation – Achieved $2.5 million annual reduction in workers’ compensation insurance premiums.

• Employee Engagement – As senior advisor and coach to executives and front line managers, provide advice, counsel, and

workforce, reduce risk of injuries from accidents in the workplace, and reduce annual premiums. Programs/plans included Drug-
Free Workplace, Back Safety, Hazmat Safety, Fit First (Wellness) Challenge, Commercial Motor Carrier Vehicles Safety, Tow
Motor/Fork Lift Safety, Airport Operations Area (AOA) Safe Driving Program, and Hazardous Spill Safety Plan.

• Integration and Management – Oversaw the integration and daily management of HR-related technology platforms,
including Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Learning Management System (LMS),
Workforce Planning and Scheduling software, and Document Management system software (ISO 9001:2008).
– Captured nearly $500,000 in annual savings by introducing a document management system that replaced antiquated paper
records with electronic file imaging.
