Associates in Applied Science, Plastics and Polymer Technology GPA: 3.34

SASTRA University Tamil Nadu, India

B.Tech, Chemical Engineering, Bachelors in Chemical Engineering GPA: 3.56 July 2008 - April 2011

GENERAL & SUBJECT INTERESTS

Rubber Compounding – Since I have taken up chemical engineering before I came to this university, I am much interested in

the reaction process of a rubber, where the compounding plays an important role. The compounding course taken at Ferris State

University, I have done many experiments which include neoprene and FKM. The experiments and the knowledge gained from

these courses have given me much insight regarding the chemistry behind the compounding. I have also attended a crash course

on this subject here at university by a visiting lecturer for the Focus on Ferris meeting organized by the Michigan Rubber Group.

Qualitative Analysis – The qualitative analysis in rubber products include many tests including the tensile load test and

hardness tests. By understanding the reactions of the rubber to these kinds of tests I have understood the polymer technology

aspect of the rubber and chemicals used.

Processing of Rubber – I have taken couple of processing courses at Ferris State University, which has given me many training

on how to handle the rubber mixers and how to properly mix the chemicals witho ut much external interference.

Project Management – I have taken courses in project management and software which are used for the same purpose. I have

learnt on how to tracking and organizing my information and tasks. I have also learnt and used Microsoft Project and applied

APQP, PPAP and other management documentation principles.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Suja Shoei Industries Pvt. Ltd. Tamil Nadu, India

Technical Intern June 2013 - August 2013

The whole part of the internship is to apply my skills in rubber compounding and rubber testing in development of a product for its

functionality. I was exposed to different new test methods available in the automotive field since I was designing a rubber product which

is used in one. I had used my knowledge I gained in rubber compounding course on designing a rubber compound to meet the

specifications and had also learnt on how to design an experiment efficiently in the real world. Also I was exposed on tool building for a

TPV product, which was a replacement for another rubber product and had gone through some specification drawing reading and

interpreting it for dimensional capability reports.

Suja Shoei Industries Pvt. Ltd. Tamil Nadu, India

Technical Intern June 2012 - July 2012

The first internship was to experience the plant activity and do subject related work in the plant. I was positioned in the rubber lab testing

and trial compounding department. The main job description was to involve myself in testing the batches that was made on a daily basis

and record data for quality analysis and Poke Yoke principles. For the first few weeks I was given training on how to record and report data

and was later then made to take over certain testing areas where I showed immense interest and full involvement. I also did some trial

compounding formulations and mixing which gave me even more in depth knowledge in that area. I worked on some of the machines like

the 2 roll mills, IRHD testing apparatus, Tensile and tension testing machines.
