Construct-Operate & Maintain a Sanitary Drainage Network in
Kuwait. Contract Value: US$ 202,600,000
The work involves the demolition of 29 existing pump stations, canceling and closing all existing network
systems, diverting all remaining small network pipes into the new network system, construction of a new
network system and construction of new pump stations A7 & A12 one of which will replace existing 29
stations. Both pumping stations are 40m below ground level and are composed of 7 pumps + 3 standby
pumps each capable of delivering 1,400 L/S with a max. head of 80m for a capacity of 741,000m3/day. The
project also includes numerous penstocks, valves, vartex grit removal units, 4x1000 dia. rising mains as well
as 43KM of various size tunnels (400-2250mm dia.) as well as the construction of 380 shafts using various
methods such as caissons, sheet piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls and construction of backdrops and vortex
chambers up to 10m diameter.
