Engineering responsibilities include all phases of digital and analog design including FPGA design, schematic generation and board level implementation. Proficient in the Verilog HDL language. Also C programming to support testing and system analysis.

Director IPSTB Security Systems/Principal Engineer, Digital Subscriber Networks

Responsible for specifying security requirements for IP set-top boxes (STB) for both System-on-Chip (SOC) component suppliers and offshore manufacturers. Primary liaison with STB SOC supplier on all technical matters.

Scientific-Atlanta, Digital Subscriber Networks

Director Silicon Technology/Principal Engineer

Responsible for ASIC development strategy for a team of 40 engineers. Included direct involvement in specifying requirements for a multi-million dollar annual ASIC development tool (EDA) budget. Directly involved in the successful development of the company’s first single chip STB ASIC.

Director Subscriber Architecture/Principal Engineer

Coordinated the efforts of nine of the division’s top engineers during the rollout of the company’s first mass produced digital set-top box. Responsibility areas included control and security systems and customer liaison.

Responsible for business development in the emerging area of internet-protocol (IP) based cable system products. Program manager for the design, manufacture and certification of the company’s first successful DOCSIS cable modem.
