Laboratory Assistant

Working in the plant pathology department in BioSafety Level 2 on tomato

and pepper plants.

Accomplish the control of spreading of Xanthomonas species infecting tomato

and pepper plants.

Xanthomonas species were performed on amylolytic, pectolytic and carbon

source utilization.

Working in the greenhouse to take care of the tomato and pepper plants and

then perform inoculation of the Xanthomonas species onto the plants.

Gram staining, Gram positive and Gram negative.

Involved in the SOD (sudden oak death) project working with phytophthora

growth process.

Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.

Collect plates and place them in the incubator for the specified amount of

time and temperature.

Prepare media and broth for use in pathogen testing as required.

Sterilize materials needed for analysis. Autoclave plates before

discarding.

Perform food testing, pH and other analysis tests on sample when requested

by the client.

Ensure that media and materials are prepared for the next testing sequence.
