To whom it may concern
My name is Mark King and I am applying for the position of
"Geologist". I have completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Memorial
University of Newfoundland on April 24, 2003. My major is within the
discipline of Earth Science/Geology with concentrations in Economic Mineral
Deposits.
The laboratory components of my degree program give me the necessary
skills (analytical, organizational, written and verbal) in which to carry
out scientific analysis of all types of data. Previous studies in Economic
Geology involved a systematic review of genetic models for the principle
types of metallic mineral deposits as well as an examination of
representative suites of samples of different types of metallic mineral
deposits. The use of reflective and transmitted light microscopy was a
necessary component in the evaluation of these mineral deposits.
My recent work experiences with Cameco Australia Pty have challenged
me unlike any other previous roll in my field of expertise. The diversity
of the geology coupled with the structural complexity of the project area I
primarily worked in, helped me understand the importance of time as a
function of the mineralizing events that dictate the size, shape,
complexity and invariably the economics of potential mineral deposits. The
opportunity to work in the geologically distinct environment that is
Australia will be an invaluable experience for the rest of my professional
career.
My work experiences with NovaGold, Belloy Petroleum, ESO Uranium,
Fronteer Development Group and the Department of Natural Resources,
Geological Survey have enlightened me to the diverse geology within the
country of Canada. The jobs consisted of a constantly changing work
environment that required a strong background in all facets of geology. My
previous work experiences have enlightened me to the diversity of the
situations encountered during employment. They have taught me how to
handle situations that required quick thinking and strong decision making
in order to achieve a positive outcome.
Throughout my educational and professional career, my interpersonal
relationships with co-workers and the general public have been nothing but
positive. The knowledge gained by these experiences is invaluable. I
request the opportunity for an interview, at a time convenient for you, so
as to elaborate further on my previous experiences. My references are
available upon request. Any questions or comments are welcome. I thank
you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
