Qatar Local Roads & Drainage Improvement Program (LRDP)
As Area Manager, I am responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design management, construction contract
procurement, construction management, handing over and overseeing the defect liability period and final handing over
of roads and drainage projects.
I work in a Strong Matrix Organization where I lead all coordination efforts with other functional groups in the program
management organization such as design specialists, project controls, contract management, claims specialists,
construction supervision staff and the client for delivering the projects.
The program requires coordination with various other major programs such as Qatar National Master Plan, Qatar

Mix-Use Development of Yas Island (Home of Formula 1 Race Track):
As Deputy Director for Yas Island Developments, I was responsible for the development of Infrastructure projects at Yas
Island.
I was directly responsible for the design, procurement, and construction management of the following transportation &
utilities projects on Yas Island:
• A twenty Five (25) KM, Ten Lane Freeway with several interchanges, roads and waterway crossings
connecting Yas Island to Mina Zayed via Saadiyat Island.
• Design & Construction of An Underwater Tunnel (1.1 KM Long) connecting Yas Island to Raha Beach.
• Construction of all internal roads, surface parking lots, and multilevel parking structures.
• Construction of utilities mains and distribution networks for all electrical, water, storm water, surface drainage,
TSE Irrigation, natural gas, and telephone civil works.
• Design & Construction of Potable Water Reservoir & Pumping Station (60,000 CM).
• Design & Construction of Irrigation Water Reservoir & Pumping Station (57,000 CM).
In addition, I was also responsible for other developments such as villas, apartments, commercial, and recreational
buildings, and community buildings developed by Aldar and as joint venture with other major developers in the world.
Some of the key projects included the development of the largest IKEA store in MENA area, the Aldar Business Centre,
ACE Hardware Store, Public Beach, An All Age Yasmina School and detailed design and procurement of construction
contracts for the Garden Crescent Residential Scheme.
On the above projects, I managed the development of procurement strategy for design and construction packages,
overseeing the work of number of Design & Construction Managers, overseeing the management of designs prepared by

Development & Expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport:
As part of the PMC Team, I was responsible for the development of several projects such as Terminal 1A, Terminal 2,
Terminal 3, Quick Baggage Transfer, New Hard Stands, and the Refurbishment of the Cargo Terminal at the Abu Dhabi
International Airport to cater for three million passengers per year.
I was responsible for the development of design and construction packages, overseeing the designs prepared by various
consultants, coordination of design activities with stake holders, change management construction management, contract
management, overseeing the commissioning and operation activities, overseeing the as-built drawings preparation,
overseeing the work of number of Area Design & Construction Managers, and project close out activities.
Transportation & Road Improvement Program Al-Ain Road Interchange, Abu Dhabi, UAE:
The project scope envisaged construction of three bridges, two tunnels, utilities relocation, CCTV systems and new
roadway. In addition, landscaping of the VIP route and two adjacent projects was also included. I was responsible for
the direct supervision and overseeing of Construction works, associated utilities works, CCTV, and Traffic Control
Systems.

Transportation & Roads Improvement Program: Al-Fallah Street Road Widening, Abu Dhabi, UAE:
The project involved 7 KM widening of one of the busiest arteries in Abu Dhabi. I was responsible for the direct
supervision and overseeing of Construction of roadway-widening including associated utility works, CCTV, and Traffic
Control Systems in the City of Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Transportation & Roads Improvement Program: Break Water Infrastructure Developments in Abu Dhabi, UAE:
The project involves dredging, backfilling, rock revetment, sea wall construction, and infrastructure development for
Malls, Hotels, and Luxury Villas. I was directly responsible for the infrastructure development such as new roads,
installation of new electrical, water, sewer, and drainage system. I was also responsible for the coordination and
overseeing of sea wall construction, rock revetment and backfill activities.
Transportation & Roads Improvement Program: Underground Parking Structures in Abu Dhabi, UAE:
The parking structure construction program consisted of several three level underground parking structures in the City
of Abu Dhabi. The Parking Structures consisted of reinforced concrete retaining walls, pre-cast Double Tee Beams,
Inverted Tee Girders, and a CIP roof slab. The electro-mechanical works included, firefighting, fire alarm system,
CCTV, patron assistance system, carbon monoxide ventilation system, variable message signs, HVAC, sewer and
electrical components.
As Senior Resident Engineer, I supervised each Resident Engineer’s work to ensure uniformity of procedures for the
program, analyzed and managed construction cost and schedules, contract administration, construction overseeing,
liaison with the Utility Agencies, and construction claims.

Development of New Ronald Reagan International Airport, Washington DC, USA:
The project envisaged construction of completely new international airport in Washington DC to replace the old airport.
I was responsible for the coordination of several construction contracts with regards to progress and cost management.
Also coordinated the testing and commissioning of the airport systems for inauguration. In addition, I assisted the
Program Manager in claims management on several contracts.
I-95 Highway Expansion Projects in Virginia, USA:
The I-95 HOV widening projects included utilities relocation works, roadway construction, construction of bridge
interchanges, associated electromechanical works, CCTV, wetland mitigation, landscaping, bridge painting, and
overhead sign structures. I was responsible for scheduling and coordinating material testing and inspection, shop
drawing review, coordination between various agencies, monitoring and analyzing construction schedules, claims
defense and management, payments and change orders, and status reporting to governmental agencies
I-395 Freeway in Washington DC, USA:
The project scope included replacement of 3 miles of old bridge deck, substructure and superstructure repairs, bridge
bearing replacement under traffic, pin and link replacement, post tensioning of existing steel girders, improvement of
safety barriers, Cathodic protection, latex overlay, asphalt paving, and overhead signs. The responsibilities were similar
to I-95 HOV projects.
